Hello all, I'm new to collecting programmes so apologies if my questions are daft!

Are there ever any Programme Fairs in the North East of England?

There would be if there were any collectors up there.

There used to a few fairs in the North East but i believe the last one was at Durham last year or the year before that.

There are several collectors in the North East, i know of several , Newcastle are the surprise package, I am yet to meet a serious Newcastle collector.

I have 3 or 4 good Newcastle customers who are avid collectors (of press photos I may add).

I know it's Yorkshire and not the North-East, but Michael Hewitt organises several at Leeds each year, Dave Stordy does a couple at Bradford, then there's Michael Hewitt's major fair at Pudsey at the end of May, plus David Allen's at Sheffield at Christmas.
There would be plenty on offer for a new collector at all these fairs.

Recent years indicate there are usually 2 programme fairs held in the North East. The Durham fair is usually around Easter time in Belmont Social Club, Carrville, Durham. Previously they were at Durham F.C. Well known dealers I've seen in attendance include John Dee, Almondvale Progs & Michael Hewitt. Bob Dixon a Sunderland dealer usually organises the fair and he has a good stock of Sunderland programmes.

The other fair is in Wallsend at the Lindisfarne Social Club. This fair is usually circa September and I believe may be organised by John Embleton a Newcastle dealer.

The Durham fair this year was not particularly well attended and the Wallsend one probably lacks promotion. Other than those two, the nearest is at Leeds as has been mentioned. If you contact Michael Hewitt beforehand, he'll ensure he brings stock of any clubs you are interested in. Hope this helps.
