I think most people when they start collecting for real will cut their teeth by buying bulk on ebay. I don't understand why the big dealers would even bother with anything but the high end of the market considering the bulk & cheap deals you can get on ebay.

Not everyone uses ebay, and I think dealers should be supported as far as possible and I don't mind paying a premium for being able to walk into a shop, have a chat, pass the time of day and come away with a few programmes. It's part of the hobby, although dealer shops are few and far between up here.

Nothing beats walking into a dealers and spotting something you need at a reasonable price.

The guy that used to do Kollectables has a stall at the antiques fair when it comes to Glasgow. That is the nearest i've been to being to a shop which is why i've been looking forward to a visit to Almondvale. I have actually met up with a few sellers from ebay.

When he has been in Glasgow it has been mostly rangers stuff but I expect when the fair is at other places he changes his stock to suit, that's if he does them elsewhere,i'll ask him when the fair is in Glasgow in two weeks time.

You'll enjoy Brian's shop, good stock and good chat! Supports the Hibs but then everybody has a cross to bear. He even changed his catalogue listing for a few months last year to wind up Rangers collectors!

As others have said, there are only a few shops in Scotland now, gone are the days of having three shop and at least 4 dealers in Glasgow! On the plus side, the internet has opened up access for everyone.
