I have just received, along with a pre-War Millwall programme, a card numbered 851 J. Lansdale, Millwall Athletic - no printing on the back.
It is 6" x 4".

I have the standard KF card but this is the first o these I have come across.

Can anyone confirm that this is what a Cabinet Card should be like please?

Value - ish?

Thanks in advance
ian

Hi there, did you buy the Millwall championship medal yesterday at fellows auction? Not sure if you're interested in that kind of thing.

regards, Mark

No it wasn't me Mark.

I didn't see it but would have had a look........ What did it go for?

I'm always interested in anything to do with Millwall but I can't compete with the really big buyers I'm afraid.

Hi, it went for £1000 being the hammer price plus commission.

It's E. J. Chiverton's winning league medal from 37/8 season.

I do collect football medals, but didn't bid on this item.

It's lot 366 at fellows auction.

regards, Mark

It look like you have one of the rare Cabinet Cards.

These cards were 6 x 4 (postard size) with a plain back.

They were obtained by exhanging some of the smaller or medium sized photos.

Have a look at this superb site.

Thanks for the link Bish - it's exactly as described and shown in the 'Bigger cards' section - looks like I've got lucky for a change! Very Happy

£1000 Mark - a bit beyond my budget, but I know one or two places it may have gone!
Thanks for your help

Excellent website. It is amazing how much effort some people invest in sharing their knowledge via a website.

A hard to get book which I have never managed to buy is "The Pinnace Collection". A previous thread on this subject I think mentioned that it was by Raymond John Spiller and published by the Association of Football Statisticians in 1986. If anyone knows where I can find a copy at a reasonable price, then please PM

This book does appear on Ebay every now and again.

Usually sells for around £30.

Many thanks for your kind words! That's MY site. I run two - the HUDDERSFIELD TOWN CARDS & STICKERS site and the PINNACE CARDS site.
I'm glad that you like them. Wink
