There always seems to be a fair share of moaning on this site, especially about ebay and it's goings on, so why not have a page dedicated to just that?
I'd like to kick off with a full frontal two footed lunge tackle at the ebay sellers who NEVER bother to leave feedback until the buyer does. The f***ing cheek of it - they have your money, often immediately nowadays thanks to Paypal, but don't leave feedback until they've seen yours. Why, because they're not willing to do so unless you give them a good account, despite having your dosh. Lowlifes.

I hate it when sellers try to make money by having a high postage fee for regular size programmes. Sometimes you just have to bear if you really want the prog. If i stopped buying from sellers with high postage i would still be collecting 60's progs.

I seem to notice that large ebay sellers buy 40/50's from regular sellers and then relist them at an outrageously high price. I know that is what you call business but i still think it is unfair for us collectors. Rant over Mad .

People that dont even bother with feedback bug me. I leave it for all trades but more often than not these days dont get any in return.

Over the years though, Ebay has done me proud and I would have no where near such a good collection of things inc programmes and tickets.

Plus I have sold around £5000 worth of stuff that would either be clogging up my house or in the bin!!!

The thing that gets me with ebay is you are obliged to pay within seven days most of the time I pay straight away.Yet I have waited up to a month to receive my items should work both ways they want quick payment they should at least have the decency to despatch it straight away.

Sellers who don't leave feedback when they've received payment are just doing it in case they get negative feedback and then they don't leave feedback I assume. I've been using ebay for five years and have never had to either leave negative feedback or received any - if I've had a problem I've always been able to sort it out with the other person.

Most people I've dealt with have been fine with leaving feedback for me too - maybe I've just been lucky, I don't know.

Only had one real bad deal on ebay. Someone had a load of Millwall mid 50's programmes on, including the 53-4 friendly vs Man. Utd. I admit to not being 100% alert to the problem, but it wasn't until it had been pointed out to me by a very experienced United collector / dealer that the programme concerned was coverless - I had taken the vendor at his word, and not physically checked the photo.
I emailed him upon receipt of this info and said that as his item wasn't as described I was reserving my right to withdraw from the sale, and stating that I had buyer's rights. He thend emanded to know how I knew it wasn't the full programme - so I advised him, and showed him a cover of a Millwall programme from that season. Not good enough for him - he filed a complaint that I must pay him, which obviously I didn't. It left me with my only ever minus mark, and absolutely no redress via ebay - they just didn't accept my version of events. I had attempted to sort it out with the vendor as they advocate, and when it couldn't be setlled I advised him to go through the ebay procedure for settling disputes, in the misguided hope that I would get a fair hearing. Total and utted b*ll*cks, I'm afraid.

I agree with Dellboye. I never bid in auctions where p&p costs for overseas shipping are clearly written. Too many sellers are trying to get extra money and for the new big and heavy programmes you may have some bad surprises.

An other thing that disturbs me is bad and poor packaging even if i'd say that english sellers ( in average ) take more care about this than continental sellers.

had four bad ebay deals - all women sadly

1) Didn't deliver made some excuse about not receiving money (was abroad)

2) Delivered item smashed (ornament) badly packed

3) 2 programmes at £2.50 postage EACH. Wouldn't budge so I sent payments separately.

4) Bought bulk rare Everton progs - postage was £1.50 each and wouldn't budge on total postage for 9 items. So I cancelled.

Ad of warning - when sending anything abroad, via ebay, where you have entered into a binding contract, always insist that the buyer pays for a signed for parcel. It's an extra fiver, but it covers you for up to £200, and the thing can be tracked on Royal Mail's website.
I sent a programme out to Germany about 6 months back, and it took nearly four weeks to arrive! How can that be possibly justified? Royal Mail, even with proof of posting, will not investigate any claims before 30 days from date of posting. If you've got proof of postage you can claim up to £30 compensation, but don't refund anything until the 30 days is up if you have proof of posting.
There are other ways of trying to find lost mail, but without proof of poistage it's not worth your while. Beauty about having items signed for if lost, is that you refund the vendor their original money, then claim the compensatory amount back from the Royal Mail, so you don't lose out financially.
