Hi,

I would appreciate anyone's help assisting me in identifying a number of Liverpool Cup Tie Tickets which have no date Competition or Teams printed on them apart from one which refers to the FA Cup. They all have Candy as the Sponsor which does provide a window of a couple of years or so as long as the Candy Advertisement changed when Carlsberg took over the adverts on the Shirts.

Thanking you for any assistance in advance

Andrew

The lack of information on these tickets is quite unusual, no date no year,no mention of which competition,no price, maybe these things are a clue in itself. Not all of the tickets appear to be from the same period.

Will send proper details later of the ones that I know - top lot are from 90-92. I've had all sorts of problems trying to sort out the smaller ones.

I was speaking to one of my suppliers from ebay the other day who was selling a Panathanaikos home ticket from 85 which was different to the one on lfcineurope site but for the same area of the ground.

He said it was definitely the correct ticket and that different colour tickets were issued for the same part of the ground. So you can imagine the problems trying to match them up.

The top ones look like they may have been taken out of a season ticket book with mention of match D or E etc do they allow a certain number of cup games with the league games (did that make sense)

It does make sense. These days your smart card just gets activated when you buy a ticket for a cup game, but in the past you had vouchers in your season ticket to guarantee your own seat for the cup game, usually at a discounted price.

Hi Andy

Most of the ones that I know have been from gathering info on ebay and other websites from various sellers so although I feel 100% right about them they may be incorrect

Ticket series K is for everton fa cup 90/91
ticket series G is for qpr 89/90 fa cup – the blue one further down is for the same game from what I can work out
Ticket series E is Norwich fa cup 89/90
Ticket series D is for swansea fa cup 89/90
The next small one I do not know – all I can say it is between 86-89 as the telephone detail has been pushed to the side
G – qpr as above
The next one I am not 100% sure – I have seen it sold as Bolton fa cup 92/93 but I have also got one with Spartak Moscow written on it – definitely the right year though

bottom row – Arsenal league cup 88 , next one not sure , next Brighton fa cup 83, next again - all I can say it is between 86-89 as the telephone detail has been pushed to the side
final one no idea

If you get any info on how to identify any of these other tickets please drop me a line as I have loads still unmatched

Cheers John

I would like to thank all those who have contributed above. A quick note to save any confusion. The larger tickets shown in the first photo are not from a season ticket. I have the season tickets for the years in question. Although they may not appear so in the photo the tickets are quiet large and perhaps two/three times the size of a season ticket voucher or similar. I am a little bemused at times why the club would not put date, teams competition etc., on ticket but it appears that was the way, makes collecting them just that little bit more interesting.

Thanks again.

Regards

Andrew

Hi Andy

If you can send me an email with close ups of tickets then I should be able to help with a couple of them at least

Cheers John
