I just received Duncan Jardine's new catalogue. I was surprised to see the words "15p copy" next to the following programme - 1976-77, South Wales XI v Manchester United.

Mine was a 15p copy. When I checked on eBay there were one or two for sale that were 10p copies.

Anyone know why?

Back in 1966-67 season a Welsh International XI played a TV All Stars XI in aid of the Aberfan Disaster Fund. There were 3 different programmes for that Sunday fixture. Slight differences for Enclosure/Field, Canton Stand and Grandstand.

A few years later and another Sunday game was arranged for Ninian Park, a home fixture v Crystal Palace. The club produced a variety of coloured team sheets, which were sold at the turnstiles, as being Sunday, they weren't allowed to charge for admission. The different sheets and their values were as follows:

Crsytal Palace - 25p - lemon
Crsytal Palace - 45p - green
Crsytal Palace - 55p - pink
Crsytal Palace - 80p - pale orange
Crsytal Palace - £1.10 - blue
Crsytal Palace - £1.30 - grey

For the Crystal Palace game Alan there was a programme too. It was a shiny thin issue with a cover different to that season's cover. the cover was 'quartered' like the 66-69 cover only in a pale blue. There was some problem with not being able to sell tickets or something for a game on a Sunday, so admission was by programme only. So the club produced various different coloured and priced team sheets for each area of the ground to cover off this requirement. The postponed programme is quite hard to get but doesn't go for a very high price £5-£10 should see someone get it.

When the game was played at the end of the season a 'normal' issue was used for that game with a large crowd as the game ended 1-1, Cardiff got the point they needed to stay up and Palace went down. This issue is very common.

Hi Tony, yes I should have mentioned the programme too. It's strange that they should have reverted to an earlier cover design.
