Nice work, GreatBarrWolf. I guess a list of those mid-1980s issues would be useful if possible. Smile

See image of rare Post-War Everton programmes as per the Toffee Pages book used by so many Evertonians as their reference.

I would say some of the considered rare ones are not as rare as you would think but its the base of it

Another rare Wolves programme is 1/10/92 v Grimsby in the Zenith Cup. Rarely seen Im sure it goes for over £100 when it does show up. Also the game away at Derry City in the Texaco Cup Semi final is quite rare, though seems to be getting more common for some reason. It used to attract prices in the £200+ range, the last i saw sell on ebay went for £60 or so though.
Of he mid 80s home ones there is a bolton one around 85 or 86 where the printers were changed from what I understand and that was a low print run because of that, not sure of the value that it attracts though.

Wulfrunian - remember that Grimsby game well - 4 hour drive there to stand behind the goal as the rain lashed down on us for the full 90 minutes followed a 4 hour drive home. And all to see a 0-1 defeat with another 150 hardy souls from the Midlands.

The away game at Derry varies in price so much dependant on its condition - another day when the rain pished down throughout and programmes got wet.

Another couple of rare ones from that god awful 1985-86 season are Brentford (away) and Plymouth (away) each now costing £12-£15 when available.

The Derry one goes from around £50-£60 in my experience. I picked up the Grimsby Away in the Zenith Cup for £10 this year but that was from a fellow Wolves collector and he was doing me a favour. That was the first time I had seen the programme available so I would expect it to be in the £30/40s if it comes up for sale.

Last seasons away v's Northampton in the League Cup is hard to find as it was a very low print run. I would expect that to go for £30 to £40?

Programmes above are all on my website www.wolvesprogrammes/weebly.com if you want to see what they look like.

I may have a spare Brentford Away from 85-86 so will see if I can find it if its valuable! I was following them then with London Wolves and the London games we often met up with the team after the match so usually ended up with more than one copy.

I'll have a look through my database and see what others I can dig out as being hard to find from normal league matches. There were some in the late 70's were several different covers were printed for the same match and some are hard to find Wolves v Ipswich Town (Team pic on cover) 16 Sept 78 being one.
