How should I be looking at when selling a 1966 F A Cup Final ticket?

Also got a 1972 SWFC v Santos ticket, again, any ideas appreciated.

Got the programmes for both

Cheers

Jim

Sorry mate.

I have seen the ticket go for around £5 - £10 many times on eBay before. Sometimes can go for more, but 75% of the time it goes for between those prices.

Well...........I beg to differ on the subject.

If you get one for under a £10 it aint alot of good!

I would say........

With a fold £10-£12
Creased around £13
Very Good to near mint £13-£16
Mint £17-£20

I'm just going on what I have seen on eBay.

I haven't bought one and most probably the ones for under £10 are fakes.

But I have seen them for under £10 before.

Your best going from Mr Gas' advice though Jim as he specialises in tickets.

I have one that was my grandad's. He holepunched it though but it's more sentimental value. He even kept a newspaper cutting showing how much the prices were. From memory i think it was £2.10 to sit in the Olympic Gallery!!

Cheers for the advice guys. I will have to have a good look at it tonight. It was tucked away in a pge of the 66 Final programme so I'm guessing its pretty legit.

With the rest of the stuff it cam with, it has the evidence to back it up as genuine.

Next question then, best place to sell it? Fleabay?

Jim

Jim.

If it has no Folds or Creases.

I would stick it on Fleabay..........Buy-it-now £25.00 or close offer.

Ticket inspection first job when I get home tonight then!

Don't suppose you know much about the Santos ticket do you?

I'll report back on condition tomorrow

why would anyone go to the hassle of producing fake 1966 tickets, the amount of work required to get the patterns perfect and crisp and sharp.

Any fakes would have to be badly created bodge jobs.

the santos ticket, if its a home game its probably worth very little, unless a large percentage of the crowd all paid on the day and did not recieve tickets. If its a away friendly then you could be on a winner

Mr G

Had a look and it falls into the very good catergory £13-£16.

No folds or big creases.

Clean not grubby, one small crease.

Rob

The Santos one is a home ticket from 72, but that said, in the last 5 years of collecting/trading, its the first I've seen.

theres a programme for this game on ebay right now, its called " Pele at Wendesday".

you either need to speak to a experienced Wednesday collector or find out the attendance frm this game. If its a very low attendance then the ticket will be rarer.

The programme sold for 0.99p with only one bid.
not much interest by the looks of it, Santos did a tour here and played fulham as well.

Cheers Rob, I spotted it, but I got the programme with the ticket at the same time.

Obviously contemplating listing them together.

As a side note, we also played Santos in 62 at Hillsborough. ( Programme obtained for that one as well! Thumbs Up )

Cheers
