There has been a Fans Boycott of matches in the Premiership League proposed by Tim Farron . . . . would you join ???
I personally belive that ALL the Premier League Players are WAY over paid . You might say well the Premirership has to compete with all the other European Leagues ....... Like Spain Laughing .... Spain is on the brink of going BUST itself .......... So why are TOP Flight Players immune from the current " We are all in this together "

It won't happen. Look how many people still turn up week in, week out, to watch teams at the bottom of their respective leagues.

Personally i've boycotted the Premier League since 2000 when Sheffield Wednesday crashed out of it, but on a serious note i've been to three Wednesday matches in 2012 - I didn't pay for two and the third was a tenner. The cheapest match ticket is now £26 which in my opinion is too much, so i'm not paying.

The fact is that nearly all of English football is overpriced, and Scottish football is not immune either.

Swindon Town charged Wimbledon fans £24 last year, for fourth tier football that is utterly shameful. Wimbledon charge £16 for terracing and even I think that is too much, although compared to the rest of the division it’s decent value. A line in the sand has to be drawn on player salaries, that is what is driving the cost of football spiralling ever upwards. Even in League Two you’re looking at £1,000 a week for an average player, ludicrous!

As for Scotland, paying over £20 for SPL football is daylight robbery, although that is offset by the fact that the money received from Sky compared to the EPL and Football League is chicken feed.

If all clubs stuck to their guns on salaries, or even brought in a salary cap, where else are these players and their agents going to go in search of £££? The reason why British players rarely venture out with their own borders, unlike the rest of Europe, is they get paid far too much in comparison to what’s on offer on the continent, to the ultimate detriment of our game.
