I think we'll agree to disagree on this one, I just think the spam comment is harsh when compared to another forum member who's definetly guilty of spam.

Not really, it's not good forum etiquette to start a dozen threads all in quick succession bumping other threads off the page, it's considered spamming.

No harm done though, and nobody is saying that WBA should stop these sort of newsy threads entirely
