BURNLEY COLLECTOR... I was on my way to the game when it was called off and when i went to the re-arranged game i went into the offices and the shop at Turf Moor and was assured by everyone that it was the same programme used. I do not know of anyone that has seen a different issue let alone have one in their collection. Seeing as the game was played only about 10 days later i can easily see why a "NEW" programme does not exist. I hope this helps you.

Now.... this is an interesting one....

I am convinced a programme for the re-arranged game exists, as I may have accidentally sold it in a bulk lot last year, but a couple of friends of mine who are also big collectors insist that no new programme was printed for it.

Hi Rocky Boro . I have 3 Sunderland v Middlesbrough homes from the 1943/44 season. I wonder if one of them was a postponement or maybe Boro didn't play at home during the war? The dates are 18th December, 4th March, 29th April.

You certainly have some rare programmes there Wullie.

According to my records the 18 Dec game was a League North Championship game which Sunderland won 6-1. The Championship then stopped / finished at the end of Dec and the League North Cup competition then commenced between Jan & Feb.

After the Cup competition finished a 2nd League North Championship took place between March and May with less teams competing. Hence Sunderland and Middlesbrough played each other 4 times during this period, twice at home and twice away. The 4 Mar game ended 4-1 to Sunderland with the 29 April game finishing 3-3.

Boro did play at home that season and I have a Boro v Sunderland s/s played 6 May which Boro won 4-2.

Hope all this makes sense.

Burnley v. Carlisle 1988/89 was postponed on 28 Feb and the same programme was issued when the game was played on 21 March.

I have also got Birmingham away -last game of 64/65 season and also Derby and Stoke FA Cup home form the winter of 62/3 that were often postponed. And i went to Northampton when it was called off at 2.30!
Additionally have postponed and overcovered for re-arranged game Leeds v Liverpool May 79.
I also have postponed Birmingham v Derby (14/01/69).

Hi Lads, not much success in trying to determine whether a programme exists for the postponed game Nottingham Forest v Newport County on 09.02.46. Game was eventually played on 23.04.46 for which I have the programme.

Any information welcomed

Just for info as I see you've noted abandonments in the rest of your list - the above match was not postponed but abandoned just before HT due to a waterlogged pitch with the score at 1-1.

Aldershot Town issued for the postponed match against Bristol Rovers on 4/2/12. A new programme was issued for the rearranged game on 27/3/12. The later programme is a 20 years of Aldershot Town commemorative issue.
