for run of the mill stuff, i doubt it. The programme centre is great as it's free, i think more sellers should use it.

A couple have told me they've sold quite a few at car boots, with more success than on eBay although I've never tried it myself and you may not get as good a price as on eBay.

(but of course you don't have to pay eBay + PayPal fees on every single item)

Mr and Mrs or Mr & Mr or Mrs & Mrs won't need to pay any tax either as its cash in hand , great if you're selling a multidude of items . Sherlock

Usually early mornings though !

I quite like Adtrader (the yellow paper in your newsagents, but also now online)- simply create an advert online, pick the free options and you can get two weeks free adverts on the Adtrader website, and also two free weeks of free adverts in the yellow paper. You just need to rebook your advert after two weeks to continue.
Honestly, I have sold some stuff but not as much as I would have liked.

I also tried Ebid for a few months, it was free listing at all times - regardless, but honestly i never even got a sniff of interest.
So i stopped, but if it catches on it would be possible to switch back.

Kind Regards from Nick.

Agreed sounds like a good concept.

I'm interested to see how well the theory translates into practice.

Well in practice as the creator and owner I can't currently find the time it will need to open the site. Pretty sure the first month or so will be manic trying to explain or answer all the support questions.

So I'll tell you what, I'm promise to open the site live by the end of Feb if you and anyone else use that time to get used to the site by using it in trial mode.

When I do open it up for live transactions I'll set the cost to FREE for the first 3 months. For most it will be free anyway after that the way it's worked.

Questions and comments via the site please.

Dave.

Seems to have worked fine, hope it has your site looks like it could be a good option when it is up and running fully.
