I can't seem to find any info regarding this game.
I've been through my Breedon book and the only friendlies were St Johnstone, Racing club de Paris and Cliftonville.
There is no mention in the programmes I have from that season (not many) but I think I may have worked out a possible date if one did exist.
We were rather embarassingly well beaten by Walsall in the 3rd round of the FA cup on 3rd Jan. We then played Sunderland away (lost again) on the 7th Jan and did not play again until 21st Jan.
With our unexpected departure from the Cup and few league games scheduled, Jan 14th could have had a rushed friendly organised. If so it seems rather unlikely that a programme would have been produced.
If anyone else knows anything all comments welcomed.

Thanks for the info

I keep meaning to visit the library to find more detail, I too doubt if a programme exists but it's not often my club has played a 'big-un' Smile

I have also looked in the same places as ashburton-grove but with no luck either but I would like to make two suggestions. Firstly it was propably a reserve or second team fixture and that is why it does not appear in Breedon. Secondly if you can find someone with an Arsenal yearbook from 1933/34, if the game was played the details would be listed in it.

Thought I would drag this one up:

Found the following info.

30/03/1933
Grantham Town 1-4 Arsenal 1600

Anyone else got record of this from the previous season ?

Did you find this info on englandprogrammes dot com?
I also found another friendly dated 18.02.1939 att 2011 score 2 - 2.
The website is most strange as it's just about Grantham plus looking with google search it comes up with the most odd links that the web designer has made public.
I can't take the site seriously, but also I can't disprove any facts made.

curiouser and curiouser

oops !!!! Didn't mean to be rude. Get My Coat
Grantham, you do need to remove some of the links that come up on google as they are easy access to hackers who can then ruin all your hard work.
If you could get that site to include other teams then it would be a treasure trove of information for stat lovers like me.
Just clicked on the football archives and I see lots to keep me busy too.

Don't worry, englandprogrammes.com has been a test best for the last 5 years, never actually had a live site running on it. Taught myself PHP using that domain and hosting, never actually got around to deleting it.

All my efforts now go into www.thefootballarchives.com/network/home.php Smile

You are welcome to join the project if you feel you can add some info.

As it happens, I added the 1970/71 Arsenal match details last night

The Arsenal line-ups were:

30 March 1933
Brannan, Brooks, Williams, Bloxham, Hithcock, Measures, Warnes, Tuckett, Owen, Foulkes, Beasley.
Scorers: Owen 2, Warnes, Beasley
That would make it an 'A' team game which was mainly younger players and triallists.

18 February 1939
Platt, Fairchild, Tooze, Skeith, Atter, Williams, Holden, Cocker, Young, Glass, Cumner.
Scorers: Holden, Young.
This was mainly 'A' team players with a few reserves.
