I am attanding a evening wedding reception in London on the opening day of the season and would love to chalk up a new ground.
AFC Wimbledon is the only one within reach that I have not done, but fear I may struggle to get a ticket, so if anyone could help I would ideally like two tickets in any part of the ground. |

I'll be flying down for the opener as well, I suspect this could head for a sell out. Rovers will get upto 800 tickets depending on how many they want, Wimbledon have approx 2500 ST holders, that leaves approx 1500/1600 ish for general sale to home fans if Rovers take up their full allocation. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

Take a milk bottle crate to stand on if you end up in the side stand. The terrace is about five shallow steps deep.

Yes, i'd agree with that unless you 8ft stand at the very front of the terrace much better when away fans were behind the goal.
A fairly content Newport County fan! |

Yes, I was there a couple of seaons ago with a crowd of just over 3200 - not segregated then. They will have to widen the section behind one of the goals. Any Wimbledon fans know of any improvements being made. Must say the 2 bars were Championship standard. javascript:emoticon(' ') |

So that may make tickets a little easier to obtain. I will try to get you a couple when they go on sale. |
The kick off time moving helps even more, so if you could help that would be great!
Many thanks! |

And rightly so....
For what it's worth I thought you played the best football by an away side at Blundell Park Theatre of Fish last season but had reverted to a team of hoofers by the return in April. Presumably this was due to your change of manager? |

Yes, we were very much on the crest of a wave, so to speak up until our victory at Crawley last season. Then a change in personnel with Holdsworth departing along with our assistant manager and a few players becoming unsettled with the lure of big boys football being offered to a few of our key players.
I believe that Tony Hudson the new man at the helm has steadied the decline and we were witnessing some fine football again in the last 10 games or so.
Really do hope that the play off's beckon this season. Personally I would be dissappionted with anything less. |

Depends what you want. Gateshead and Darlington are pretty soulless, Kettering was falling apart, Cambridge couldn't manage to open the whole ground for safety reasons, Hayes is rather ramshackle (see Ebbsfleet this season too!), Eastbourne is a bit of a hole (albeit by the seaside!), Tamworth, Southport and Bath could all do with a lick of paint. yet all 3 were probably our best days out last season, and if you're talking behind the goal? You should try Newport in the snow ... _________________ Newest programme wanted:

My least favourite ground of last year was definitely Tamworth and I had to go twice. Best is a toss up between Forest Green (I've never watched pro football in a nicer part of the country), Kidderminster if only for the club bar and the fantastic food and Chasetown just because their fans were brilliant all day..
I can't agree about Eastbourne. Tidy little club and a good bar and anywhere that close to Beachy Head has to be worth a visit. |

Bert, youre obviously an ardent Dons fan and the comments you have made on other premier conference grounds are pretty spot on.
But youre in the football league now and as I and other posters have said the sections behind both goals are rather cramped to say the least. What is your capacity next season - has any work been carried out during the closed season? As I said previously your bars/clubroom are top notch and your hospitality second to none.
regards, Mark |

Mark, the only work being carried out is that which needs to be done to meet FL requirements, principally a police control room. There won’t be any significant changes to the terracing, and I think the capacity will be around the 4800/5000 mark.
Given that a new ground in Wimbledon remains our priority and work is being done in that respect, I don’t think any significant improvements will be made to the ground over and above what we are required to do, certainly until our future location is decided. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |
