After a great deal of encouragement from my wife I have come to the conclusion that the time has come to clear our loft of the collection of football programmes that have been lying there safely boxed up for the last 20 plus years. The collection mainly dates to the 1960s and 70s, with a large amount of Liverpool Everton and Tranmere home and aways but many many more besides.

So far I have got about 650 of them on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, but the job is quite simply too time consuming for me, as I estimate that there are at least another 1500 awaiting me! Included in the collection cup finals, semifinals and a great number of testimonials and other odd and unusual items. Looking on the various websites, I have quite a lot that is worthwhile, and of course some that is not. The vast bulk of the collection is in good or very good condition.

I realise that if I sell the collection as a block I will get less for it, but the alternative would be to have it take over my life (and I guess that's why it found its way into the loft in the first place) does anybody out there know of any honest person/s who would be interested in giving me a reasonable deal on this?

Arnt thay just great wimin, remember just before i got wed in 76 moving my belongins to our new home in St Helens had about four boxes of Wolves progs in loft " Your not takeing those things with you are you" my future wife asked, you bet i was ,and arnt i glad ,stored them away in new gaff for 20 odd years before geting back into collecting.
Have always been fasinated by the Match Day Programme from my main era of watching the game on a regular basis 60s to 80s .
There is just somthing about the whole prog thingy.
And long may it last.

Not a great lover of the modern day prog at all , can take them or leave them, 50s & 60 was i think a golden age for collecting the MDP.

Blackburn Rovers 26/10/65 Lancashire Senior Cup good
Manchester United 8/12/64 F8 Youth Cup Round Two Good
Bolton Wanderers 26/9/64 Central League Good
Liverpool 19/9/64 Central League Fairly Good
Tranmere Rovers 5/5/60 Liverpool Senior Cup Final Dogeared signed by Alan Tyrer, John King, Frank Wignall, Bobby Laverick, Tom Jones, T. G. Watson (trainer) all Everton and Finney and Millington (Tranmere) plus one unknown on back

Handwritten team changes and scorers (Everton won by 5 - 1 with Roy Vernon scoring twice)

Sinbad on Brookside said "women, can't live with them... and ... if you don't know how to lay a patio you can't live without them" Smile

Lucky for me mine is a gem (had to put that in in case she's looking)
