That seems a little unfair at this stage. I would have valued the set at £70-£80 so don't see what the problem is unless you know something we don't?

I dont understand why this collection has been bid to that amount, almost £100!

Recently the 99 champions league programme has been struggling to fetch £25, as has the last game v spurs. The fa cup final has struggled to make £20, some going for £15/£16.

Sir Alexs 1000th game is worth face value at most, £3.

So recent auctions if purchased seperately, you could have got all of these for £60-£70. Time to get some of my spares on Ebay as a collection I think!

I understand your logic, not so sure on all of your estimates tho'.
But an auction is all about taking a chance.
Would you be writing if the programmes were on £5.00 - I don't think so!
Would you then be offering to make up for my losses - I don't think so.

If someone wants them and they are prepared to outbid someone else then so be it. I have taken a chance which appears to have paid off.
It's all about timing and promoting your items.
I seem to have done something right.

What's your problem?

Cool

They are'nt estimates, they are up to date recent sale values.

It was'nt a dig at you at all, more to the point is the apparent laziness of some big match collectors or people who just want memorable peices in their collection. They would rather pay over the odds for a group of items than pay less buying them singularly. Its nothing new though, and maybe its just human nature, to buy them all together.

As for your question, I dont have "a problem" Scouse

I got annoyed because your comments could be detremental to me selling my programmes.

I suppose by posting on here I leave myself in the shop window.

Confused

Unfortunately, due to a timewaster, the programmes did not sell on ebay.

If anyone is interested in buying them, please PM me.

Any reasonable offer will be considered.

Thanks,

Mike,

What's your problem Shylock?

I had a bidder pull out at the last minute. The next one in line - I can't contact. The third bidder would not buy for the sort of money I am asking.

Are you still trying to imply I frigged the bidding on ebay?

Why would I got to the trouble of promoting on my own website?

By the way you need to change your user name to ManchesterGreenandGoldz!!!

The 99 Champions League final was readily available at least three months after the game in the Club shop at Old Trafford for £5 each i picked up about 8 of them and two copies of the away friendly to South China at the start of the 99/00 season, can;t work out why they are so pricey??

Shortly before the Man Utd shop closed in Dublin in the early 2000s they were selling off dozens of the 99 CL final programmes for a couple of quid. It only became expensive when Champions League finals took off shortly after that. I bought all the 90's champions league finals at the time from dealers at a small markup on cover price.

Unfortunately I didn't buy any of the 99 ones. I doubt they even sold and were probably dumped.

The other Man Utd regret is I and other collectors watched Billy Kennedy bring a large box of unsold George Best testimonials to the fair in Belfast every year from 89 to the early 2000s and sell the odd one at 50p each. They now sell for £25++ on ebay.
