I didn't want England to get it either, but since reading about the reasons or reason why Russia and Qatar are staging World Cups I feel a bit sorry for Cameron,Beckham and Prince William wasting their time trying to persuade corrupt people to make less money.
To let Qatar stage a World Cup is laughable, if England could get support from a few serious football nations rather than just America or Australia I'd be up for them boycotting FIFA competitions and staging their own tournament.

Problem with that is Fifa would throw their toys out of the pram and force UEFA to act, which would see English teams thrown out of Champions League/Europa League - and no way Scumchester and Chelsea would allow that.
So would never happen.

It's catch 22 really I guess. The majority of people on here and general supporters moan about the game being a business to try and make money but get frustrated when our bid 'fails' even though it was set to make FIFA the most money. Ironic really.

In terms of boycotting FIFA I think this would be a a good thing but as already mentioned UEFA would be involved and the European competitions would be no more for English or British teams.
I would love England to make a stance against FIFA but ultimately it won't happen as money rules the game.....

The bigger nations e.g. Brazil & France have already hosted or are set to host a tournament soon. Perhaps if Italy, Argentina & Spain come on board we might have more clout.

Respect to US & the Aussies though for there backing.

Qatar have decided to make a bid for the winter olympics.
the FIFA executive board told them that they thought they would have a very good chance of getting it.

did anybody read the piece in the Daily Mail by Samuels the day after the bid was announced.
it has been added to every day since.
absolutely spot on everything he says.

first he takes the presentations and the winning countries.
Russia's presentation didn't have a black footballer in it until right at the death when a few token ones were added.

Qatar doesn't recognise the state of Israel but it has agreed to let Israel in if they qualify.
they haven't mentioned any Jewish or Israeli fans though.
Qatar also considers it a crime to be gay punishable by 5 to 10 years in the slammer
so to sum up if you're black,Jewish or gay the next 2 world cups are out for you

he also informs us what was mostly known anyway
before FIFA consider your bid acceptable you have to change your tax laws and money laundering laws to allow the FIFA exes(also known as "Arfurs" to swan around with big bags of swag.

he amusingly tells us that every time he sees Jack Warner shake hands with a prince or a prime minister he can't understand why nobody calls the fraud squad.
he tells us he needs a bath every time he sees Warner

now England are pulling out of a friendly-big deal!!!
and Boris is not letting the fat cats stay at the Dorchester fee of charge for the Olympics.
did anybody know we had invited them???

it's what we at Manchester United have said for years
Club before country.
now Liverpool are saying it after Stevie G got fucked for nothing

it's like anything
let it gather momentum.
it's easy to say FIFA don't ned England but i think they do.

if England start treating FIFA like shit and make it be known clearly that they won't deal with a corrupt body then other might join.at least i think they will.
it will gain momentum because i don't believe any football association thinks that FIFA is anything but a corrupt organisation.

it will be intersting to see what the Olmpic commitee do after their investigation

We all know FIFA are corrupt, but the wailing and gnashing of teeth in the English media smacks of nothing more than sour grapes to be honest.

So England agreed to play a friendly in Thailand in return for votes - isn't that also bribery? free hotel rooms in the Dorchester - isn't that bribery? a friendly in Trinidad - bribery? the handbags incident - bribery?

I could go on but you get the picture, they were all at it, except the Russians and Qataris had bags more cash.

FIFA needs reforming, but I'm not sure shouting about it in the media immediately after the vote is the way to go about it, people will take it as a case of sore losers.

of course it's a bribery attempt on Englands behalf.
that's why those at the top of the English game can also be seen as corrupt bastards
mind you with the PM goingtro the presentation you know it's corrupt.
they still can't sort out the expenses scandal in Parliament

Some good comments boys, Tyne, I think you're spot on.

Treble, yes I read Samuals comments in the mail just after he posted it in the early hours on Friday morning.

It's the only time I'm ever going to be in general agreement with him.

He appeared to have a good grasp, of the ways of corruption, the lies, the false promises, the un-just process, the greed, the power of money and friends in high places. well he would wouldn't he after his disgraceful views and journalism in the Carlos Tevez Affair. No I shall say no more.
