Mullocks take the piss and unless there is something exceptional in the auction I wont buy from them

I feel exactly the same about Mullocks. I don't even look at their catalogue anymore. A few auctions ago I submitted a few commission bids, to win them all at the maximum. They overcharged with postage and took ages to post the items out. I learnt never to send in commission bids again as I do not believe they took bids up to my maximum.

The service by Sportingold and Stacey's is fantastic and Mullocks should take note.

Firstly can I say thank you to all those collectors
who contacted me and especially those who made
purchases following my four latest listings.
The response was excellent with many programmes
being sold.

I have said before that when buyers and sellers can
get together there is no need to pay commission or
any other extraneous charges to a third party.

I am looking to reduce my programme collection and
intend to list more games.

I do still have a lot of 1940s and pre war games
and if collectors are looking to add to or improve their
own collections I may be able help.

This surely was the main purpose of The Forum
when it was first instigated.

Has Sportingold been sold or is it still up for sale?

Still for sale, Emma Williams is still running the business with assistance from Andrew Miller.

NOTE This has been altered. The postage cost that was written here has been removed. I stupidly mixed this up with another auction (London Auctions). I apologise for this both to everyone here and to Loddons.

I do want to add something else. That is the somewhat strange estimates and reserves for various programmes. I know that in some (and definitely not all) cases, the vendor chooses the reserve if that vendor has the option, but what I see happening is that prices for items are slowly being pushed up so that auction houses can make more money on commissions instead of letting the market forces work by themselves.
