Lovely programmes. Thumbs Up

Just be careful - there are some dealers on here who will offer you what may seem like a good price, but it won't be that good. Laughing

When people ask values, they normally have crap. But safe to say these are not crap.
Having said that, I think the owner should not get carried away.
Programmes don't always sell for what they are "worth" And if you sell at an auction, then you've got to remember commission fees etc.
Sometimes a private sale is more suitable. I once got a message from a bloke who wanted to know the value of a Sunderland programme. I made a fair offer, but I think someone must have changed his mind for him. He put it in an auction for a silly high price and needless to say it didn't sell Laughing
In my opinion , £250 / £300 plus for these Blackburn programmes seems a fair price, ( a proper look at condition is needed)

March 2009 Sportingold Lot Number 9

1919/20 Blackburn v Bolton Sold for £380 (£450 Inclusive of fees)

I'm sure Bradford City, Everton & Man City have more collectors than Bolton so i wouldn't be surprised if they sold for a few quid more

The best thing to do is send them to a proper Sporting auction house or offer them on ebay at £750 buy it now with ''best offer'' and decline any offers less than £400

I am sure it would be a very good offer Clive.

My message was certainly not aimed at you. If it was I would have included a quote.

I know you are a collector and not a dealer as we have corresponded earlier this year.

If I was a Blackburn collector I would be absolutely delighted to pay that kind of price for 1919/20 season programmes.

There is a later Blackpool pre war (1920s) up for auction at the moment which along with the interested Blackpool collectors, and the opponents being a collectable club, may even hit 4 figures. Crying or Very sad

I try not to hype them to much. Once people talk about hitting 4 figures the potential sellers ( he hasn't stated he wants to sell them) mind will be spinning then could face massive disappointment if they go for 200 minus fees. Hard to imagine, but you never know. One more thing. Are these first team games or reserve games ? A big factor on price.

I just came across this post from 9 years ago. I originally contacted the seller with an offer and the message is still in my Outbox. The programmes later appeared at auction - I bought them. The hammer prices were
Everton £550
Man City £800
Bradford (postponed) £800
