Not totally sure about the history of this programme. I picked this up at a Torquay United club shop clearout in the very early 1970's. It is a minature version of the FA Cup game Scunthorpe United v Tottenham Hotspur 1951/52 season.
I was told by a dealer about 20 years or so ago, that the programme was printed especially for the referee, but I just don't know.
On the back of the programme, at the bottom of the page is written
'Facsimile programme printed by the Priory Vat Press, 70 Low Leys Road, Scunthorpe.
If anyone can provide further information, I will be very grateful.I hope the image comes out alright, as I am hopeless at modern tech!!!!

Can’t help with information about the programme but if you haven’t seen it there is a film of this game in the BBC archive.

Thanks for the info Bluebird 54, but what I would really like to know is, why was there a minature copy of this programme produced?? It does make sense that it could have been a copy made for the referee, but I'm not that convinced.
Also, sorry shotsman, for high jacking this thread.

No problem, the beauty of this forum is that it sparks other lines of interest. We both have a mystery here, why did South Liverpool produce such a small programme, and what on earth was going on with your Scunthorpe programme. Someone must know? Anyway I am off now to dig through my collection because OI think I have aa couple of other strangely shaped programmes to share

I had the miniature Scunthorpe v Tottenham FAC 1951/52 season too, but was told by a 'SPURS' collector that the programme was re-printed in the short format some time later.

Or maybe I had the linesman's copy?

Sadly, I no longer have the programme, but from memory my copy had a slight shiny feel to it - and rusty staples but was certainly a small programme.

The Tottenham v Scunthorpe 'minature' programme is not at all shiny. The paper feels and smells of the time and I have had it in my possesion for at least 50 years. I have tried for years to find out any information about it.
