Does anyone have any team photos with unusual or amusingly random items in them. I came across this picture of Chester's 1967/8 squad which ostensibly is pretty normal for a lower division team group of that time until you notice that the director in the second row up, second left, couldn't be arsed to put his fag out before the photo was taken! Anybody got anything in a similar vein?

Not as good as your photo Mark, but here’s lpswich Town players 1938 . Wasn’t there a cigarette factory near Portman Road? It’s from the book Football Yesterday and Today 2003. I was at a game on Sunday , grandkids game Chester Bluecoat v Home Farm Ellesmere Port. The kids ( under 13s) warmed up for over half an hour before the game. My daughter didn’t believe me when l told her that players used to just run out and take a few shots at goal, sometimes have a final drag on a ciggie, before kick off. Perhaps l imagined that last bit. Might have been a pipe Laughing

I remember a Liverpool team photo from around 1993 where in the front row (seated), instead of having his hand on his knee, Razor Ruddock had his hand on Julian Dicks' knee & vice versa.

It was mildly amusing, unlike the fayre being served up on the pitch at that time!

I always thought that this character had some nerve. He decided to dress up as a Man Unt player and ended up in the team photo. Roy Keane is looking across , probably thinking who the f—k is that? Years ago , there was a notorious Liverpool hard man, who always seemed to lead the winner of The Grand National into the winners enclosure . You would see him on TV every year at the end of the race. Apparently everyone was too scared to say anything to him.

I emailed to recall that Karl Power said he was 'doing it for Eric' or something like that.
Strange looking line-up anyway as you don't normally see a keeper squatting on the front row...

Nothing new in that - from 1979, Div 2 champions Palace and Steve Kember is getting friendly with Tony Sealy - though it wasn't reciprocated. Not in public anyway!

Haha, nice spot, Pete.

Razor must've nicked the idea off Kembs then I reckon.

Pretty sure this was witnessed on a Spurs team group from the early 70s? Alan Gilzean? !

Mid 80s and the power of sponsorships are starting to show as Manchester United are nearly buried underneath a mountain of office equipment.
