Afternoon all

Just for information of those not on the Scottish Football Programme facebook page.

I have started making some tentative enquiries about organising a programme and memorabilia fair in the Forth Valley area of Scotland (Stirling/Falkirk) and have reached out to potential venues.

Very, very early stages but I am hopeful that the the central location between Glasgow and Edinburgh and the transport links to Dundee / Perth etc will make this an attractive event for collectors/vendors alike.

That being said, I would still like an idea of interest before making definitive plans.

So, I was looking for some feedback by simply responding to the question

If there was to be a fair in the Forth Valley area would you be interested in attending?

If you have already responded via Social Media, there is no need to do so here and thanks for taking the time to do so.

Further to this, if there are people interested in being a vendor at the event, please drop me a message or contact me via Email at [email protected]

Interested in your thoughts

Regards

Jim

Interesting idea.

I think as a starter you'd need to attract all the main Scottish dealers to the fair (not that there's many left), the Glasgow one lacks one of the main dealers and it's the reason I never bother going.

Have you thought about offering something different as well to attract a wider range of attendees? eg people selling old shirts (which is a large growth area in football memorabilia and attracts a younger following). There was supposed to be a kind of "shirt convention" at Ingleston before Covid hit and it was cancelled, it gained a lot of interest. See link.

I'm not sure if they exist, but perhaps dealers in other sports eg rugby.

I've held the belief for a while that traditional programme fairs need a re-boot, there's more to football memorabilia collecting than programmes and tickets.

Anyway just some thoughts. I'd likely attend as it sounds more convenient for me than Glasgow.

If you get it going, count me in with the possibility of another. Would be good to see another fair added to the calendar. Best of luck.

Forth Valley Fair – Extended hours!!

We are having to extend the hours of the Forth Valley Fair from 9.30am – 3pm.

This is due to the level of interest not only across Scotland but across the UK . We are considering the fact that the industrial action on Sunday train services continues and will affect people looking to come by train and also looking to accommodate fans of clubs who are playing that day who want to attend both the Fair and the match!

I want to thank the Hotel for their understanding and to the vendors for agreeing to this change.

Thanks all

Jim
