Good evening everyone,

I am trying to identify from what season this single sheet programme is from. I believe it is either from one of the following 3 seasons 1975/76, 1976/77 or 1977/78.
As there is no price or date was the match postponed and was this an insert placed in the original programme or is it a team sheet as this has come from a collection of programmes which originally belonged to the match referee R.S.Lewis.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Martin

Trevor Hockey signed for Bradford City in June 1974 and played 43 league games in 1974/5. I don't think he played later than that. Maybe someone can confirm?

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the info, since I created the post I've been looking at on the net and according to Wikipedia Hartlepool's forward Bobby Scaife joined them in September 1975 and left in October 1977.

Cheers

There were no postponed matches or single sheets issued for the matches against Hartlepool in any of the seasons mentioned , if it is blank on the back maybe the club had some copied just for the referee , if there are adverts or an article on the back it could just be the back page from a programme.

I have searched thru my Bradford City programmes and found the programme the date was the 15th November 1975. The single sheet you have appears to be the back page of the programme , if there is an article about the Avenue auxiliary fund on the back then that confirms it. The match was played on that date not postponed and the result was a 2-1 win for Hartlepool. Half time score was 1-0 to Hartlepool.

Hello,

The sheet is blank on the reverse so as RIKERBCFC suggests it is a copy of the team line-ups given to the referee on matchday.

Many thanks to all who have taken the time to reply & for checking their own collections.

Cheers
