To Admin - URGENT

I have received an email from Google today saying one of my passwords I store using Google (in a secure manner) has been found elsewhere on the internet.

Upon logging into Google from a different device I found the message to be legitimate and from Google.

The website that my password has been compromised is the Football Programme Centre.

i have changed my password and URGE everyone else to do the same - please use a password that is NOT used elsewhere on the internet.

Best Regards
Kenny

Whoops!
Just found out my email details have also been hacked, but not from here, from auction website Live Auctioneers, which I sometimes use.

So thanks KCS for making me check my email safety.

Probably a very stupid question but how do you change your password on this site? I have had a quick look but I cannot see an option to do this.

Martino. I had the same problem. I put down that I did not remember my password. Then you will receive an email with a temporary password. Use this then you will enter a new page with 'Change details'. Then reset your password.
I have to thank Kenny (Kcs), for advising me with this.

I wanted to highlight to everyone this has happened once again.

This is quite concerning that this has happened more than once and suggests to me that your password used on here is not secure.

*** PLEASE ENSURE YOU USE A UNIQUE PASSWORD ON THIS FORUM ***

I am contemplating closing my account on this forum as a result. If you require my contact details please PM

That’s if you actually receive an email with a temporary password.

Yes I had that problem. No email for 20 minutes then like a bus, 3 arrived together.

I've changed my password and gained access to the site, but can't see an option to change it to one I will remember.
No link to another page to do so as a couple of you have said.

Any ideas? Confused

Top right there's "my account", click on that and there is a change password option.

I'm no computer expert, but if the site is compromised then I don't see how changing your password will prevent any repeat. It's the site & its software that is compromised here, not you.

Every account needs closing, the passwords & all member details expunged, and the site rebooting with new, improved software, surely?
Then it's up to people to re-join.

I'd go as far to say that if there is a security problem with the site, then the host has a moral obligation to shut it down & protect the details of its members right now.

I'm clearly being dim, but on which page? The home page? If so, it's not there.

The password has been compromised, now that could mean a host of things... but it means your password is no longer safe or secure.

I know it's not me that has been compromised, but the site has been compromised in some way resulting in my password being compromised.

Fortunately I only use a unique password on this site and it's no use to anyone - but I am sure some people use the same password with the same email address on other sites/apps that they do here - in some cases some may use it for financial accounts...

Changing the password may help if the current password 'file' is being accessed but you are right if the password has been captured and stored elsewhere.

If anyone uses the same password on here and elsewhere with the same email address then I would URGE you yo change it elsewhere immediately.

On the top right of the page there is “My account” in red, just below “your basket”

Your not being dim, it took me ages to spot it. It is on this page.

I never use the same password twice on anything, everywhere I go I use a different & unique password.

I'm still not happy with the security (or lack of) on this site though. Far from it.

If your password isn't safe or secure, what else is at risk?
Does anybody really know??

If not, the host has an obligation to shut this place down pronto until such safeguards are in place, especially given that there is no option here to delete ones own account.

Thanks for that Rutland, much appreciated.
That's where I expected to find it, but it's not there.

The only options I have in red are Shopping cart, Checkout, Register and Log in - I've opened register (which is for new accounts) and log in (which doesn't have the option to change passwords).

I'll run with the temporary password sent to me yesterday for now.

What are you hoping for on a free to use football programme forum ?
If you are that concerned, I'd suggest you stop using the site and request for your account and all previous posts be removed
