Is it just me, or do other collectors find dealing with programme dealers nowadays just simply hard work?
I'm not talking fly by night ebay sellers, but established dealers who have been selling for a good number of years.
I've dealt with a few in lockdown and have found it really difficult with a lot of them, not all but a good majority, and I'm not talking £2.50 orders either!

Mostly plain rude, last 4 or 5 orders I have not felt like a customer, more like an inconvenience

Most have been fine but one was quoting over £4 postage for two £1 programmes that would cost around £1 to post together as they were lightweight issues.

When I asked if it was right they said that they posted individually and sent signed for so I didn't bother.

I hope that the experience has not soured what you think of dealers on the whole.
Over the years I've tended to find that programme dealers are very courteous and helpful people and only want to push the hobby forward.
I can only assume that possibly down to a greater number using their services or even perhaps problems caused by or impinging on due to the pandemic has caused a couple to 'drop the ball' customer wise.
A few dealers I know have, like semi pro footballers, daytime jobs.
Certainly the recent west London fair had 3 or 4 times the amount of attendees than there would have normally been...

Also the length of time they have taken to reply, then despatch goods has been ridiculous, 3-4 weeks from enquiry to delivery I think is poor

Broadly I find it very hard to get any value from a dealer or auction at the moment. This may be due to the type of programmes I collect which I guess in the scheme of things are easier to get? But in general it’s way more than what I can get through Facebook or eBay. Maybe some of the rarer ones will go through a dealer later on

"The customer is KING".

Without customers they do not have a business.

If any seller does not realise that then they should not be in business or will not be for long.

If there are any programme dealers/sellers or other collectors reading this, i am desperate to find a copy of the Bexley United v Barnet 20/10/1965.
