Thank you everyone.

We now have £200 pledged from 18 members.

What I propose to do is, give this until midnight on Sunday night 8th Nov, at that point write to ATFC outlining what we have.

As it stands, we can cover the £50 entry for the Subscribers Board, and then the balance (now £150) for a Memorial Trophy with engraving. That can rise for any further additions between now and Sunday night.

I am happy to pay ATFC the whole amount, give you all the details, and then ask you to all pay me via Paypal or a bank transfer, but not until ATFC have confirmed receipt of our funds so you can see what I have done. But I don't know the time-scale or how quickly the club will get back to me with their confirmation or other ideas. If it will take a while for them to sort, and it may well do, then we can keep this open for any further to come in.

And if those 2 guys (Flaming Pie & CannonCJ) feel like auctioning anything, they should be able to do so during that open period.

I hope you all agree with this and see what I am getting at.

Thank you again to everyone.

Easy

Hi All

I'm about to write to ATFC to advise that we have 29 pledges from FPC patrons and the total so far is £325 - which is really fantastic and my thanks go to all of you for supporting in this way.

The £325 will cover the £50 for the Subscribers' Board and give them £275 (as it stands) for a trophy with suitable engraving.

But don't stop there. If anyone else would like to join us, please add your name to my list.

And give this some thought please. Re the engraving, the club, or his family, may well want to decide for themselves what to put on it which of course would be fine. But if they are giving us the choice, it could be.......

"The John Holroyd Trophy
Auchinleck Talbot FC Player of the Year"

Or - how about........

"The John Holroyd Trophy
Auckinleckian of the Year"
?

Cheers
Pete

I'd like to add my donation too (£10).

I'd also add the naming of the trophy in bold, in my opinion.

Once again, when the time comes to transfer money to you, Pete, just let me know.

Paul Briers.

All good ideas.

I suspect they may already have a player of the season award?

We may have to be more inventive?

Best young player?

Ian

This is what they told me which I put at the start of this thread

One option could be a John Holroyd Memorial Trophy for a Player of the Year to be chosen by the Beechwood Regeneration Committee(B.R.C.) of which John was a very valuable member and for which he did his fundraising activities. The Club is also in the process of installing a Subscribers Board, to be displayed in a prominent position within Beechwood Park, which highlights the improvements made by the Club in conjunction with the B.R.C. and to which supporters (past or present) can have their name or that of a relative added for a cost of £50.00, which goes towards the cost of a new medical facility and any future projects

How about club person of the year. This could cover players, Tea ladies Groundsman or any club stalwart.
