I'm looking for help in finding definitive lists of cigarette card sets, but for now, if anyone has a list of the 'Well Known Footballers' cards issued by Sinclair in 1938. These were fifty Scottish players from that year.

I have cards 17, 18 & 20 which were Aberdeen players. Is No.19 also a Dons player?

Thanks

I'm hoping this link works

https://cartophilic-info-exch.blogspot.com/2014/02/john-sinclair-ltd-well-known.html

This is an amazing site, this link should show the list of 50 scottish cards (below a list of 50 North Eastern Counties cards) and it does confirm that cards 17-20 are all Aberdeen players.

I also suggest you try to get the book called

"HALF TIME (Football & the Cigarette Card 1890-1940)" by David Thompson. Published 1987 by Murray Cards (International) Ltd.

ISBN Number 0 946942 05 6

There's a full list of every cig card in there, including this John Sinclair series and as stfc says, it lists Aberdeen players from 17 - 20. Mr Thompson points out that Glasgow Rangers players were omitted from this series, in favour of Second Division Dunfermline Athletic.

Thanks both. That is a great site, thanks for your help. I'll see about getting a hold of that book as well.
