Yes, good to see Mick back.

In relation to new members, as I explained I'm not always signed in when I log on, so I do tend to read and only sign in if I want to comment.

There's no doubt with regards to guests, that there's an element of caution about becoming full members of the forum as it were, some may feel a little daunted. We all had to be the new kid at some stage of life.

With regards to the hobby as a whole

I do think at times we're too quick to be down on it.

We are no different to almost every other hobby.

Let's be clear, few youngsters are interested in collecting anything, let alone football programmes, and to a large extent its always been like that.

Its easy to look back through rose tinted specs and say our generation collected this and collected that.

When I was a kid back in the 70s we collected almost nothing, although me gran used to drink loads of PG Tips and collect the cards for me, but I wouldn't call that collecting. Big Lyolld down the road had a load of Action men and Billy Bubbly had a collection of Marvel Comics and that was about it.

Manners maketh the Man so the good book says-not sure which book it was though Laughing

But even the most ignorant of folk at some point have to say "Ta" or "Thanks" or even grunt, if u could grunt online then millions would be at it!

everyone has manners Peter but a great number refuse to use them because they are basically pig ignorant and that is all there is too it.
