I just found out the attached from my local Post Office:

First class stamps are to rise by 3p, going up to 70p, while 2nd class ones will also go up by 3p, to 61p.

The changes will come into place from 25 March

OUCH!!

Just 15 years ago it was 28 pence, so that's an increase of 150% over that time. Inflation has risen year upon year by 43% during the corresponding period.

i suppose the answer is to use somebody else if you can get delivery cheaper. If not you have to grin and live with it or stop posting items. On ebay by the time you have added postage and fees and paypal it comes a useless exercise to try to sell non quality items for a pound or two as the added on costs including postage make the whole thing prohibitive to a small buyer like myself and small seller

This will just give some ebay sellers the opportunity to further raise their already exorbitant postal costs which in some cases are essentially an unscrupulous method of increasing their profit.
Yes I realise that there is no compunction to purchase programmes when the postage is prohibitive.

Large is going up from £1.40 to £1.50 - that's 7.2% up.

Anyone would think they do a good job.

Then buy your stamps now to beat the price rise. I always get my Xmas stamps well in advance.

You could argue that anyone charging the new rate from April but using old 1st/2nd class stamps is making extra profit. We have to accept this is part of life.

The prices some sellers want then the cost of postage is the least of your worries.

This is why i prefer programme fairs. You can find plenty of programmes for 50p and £1 and you pay for them and take them away with you.No ebay fees,no paypal fees,no feedback requirements and more importantly no excessive postage charges and waiting around for the item to arrive.
You can buy 10 @ 50p programmes at a fair for a fiver and the seller gets the fiver. On ebay the same 10 programmes will cost the buyer about £20 with postage and the seller gets about £4 after fees.
It doesn't make sense
