Sorry to plug my eBay auction, but i'm selling off my whole collection of programmes due to my move to uni and having no room to store these programmes. if you're interested, you can collect them from the Nottingham Trent Uni campus at Clifton.

I'm still collecting Boston programmes pre 2007, but don't feel the need to collect other teams programmes anymore.

Good luck with the sale, and welcome to the best City in the World (despite the fact I don't live there anymore!!!).

Just out of interest, don't suppose you have any Boston v Forest from 2002/03 and 2005/06 going spare by any chance?

Memories of Nottingham...

Always used to stop for a night out there in the early to mid 70's after a game in the midlands. Great night - is the Flying Horse still open? Used to have about 6 or 7 bars, each catering for differing musical tastes, reggae, prog rock, motown, etc.

The boat club, or is it boathouse, by the Trent? Saw some great bands there, again during the 70's.

Went out with a girl from Beeston late 60's / early 70's.

There was always an apocryphal story about women outnumbering men by at least a ratio of 2 to 1. There always did seem to be a lot of beautiful women on the pull themselves when we went there though.

Test cricket at Trent Bridge, sitting on the old concrete terrace in the 1980's, as opposed to the seats. Usually the boisterous section of the crowd, plenty of drink and sun was a heady mixture.

Oh, and the football of course....

The Flying Horse was shut last time I was in that part of the city.
Nice to watch cricket at Trent Bridge then walk over the bridge for the footy...good memories.

A bit before my time but I believe The Flying Horse you are talking about is now an upmarket shopping centre for the over 60's!

The story of 2 women to every one man was true, in the 1800's, but this was down to the thriving lace industry in Nottingham, which resulted in work for women, the number of women does rise during university term time, but that is because we have two top notch uni's, however, it is nowehere near 2-1.

The Boat Club is still very much there, as is The Brit next door, I've heard about the sort of bands that played there in the 60's, 70's and 80's, doesn't get much use now though apart from match-days when it is used by the Nottingham Forest Supporters Club.

It's a real shame Nottingham got so much bad press in recent years, because it is a great city, the BBC decided to film a documentary of Nottingham over a 12 month period, it was about Nottingham on Friday and Saturday nights, they got all of the film together, picked out the worst bits, and decided to stick it all in to a 1 hour programme, and as a result any thing that happened in Nottingham that was in the slightest bit newsworthy, especially gun crime, was plastered all over the UK press, and gave us the nickname 'Shottingham', when in reality, gun crime, and a weekend night out in Nottingham was no worse than in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Hull, Sheffield, Newcastle etc.

Thankfully Notts Police have managed to get gun-crime down and the press have got off our backs over the last couple of years, and tourism for example is on a rapid increase in Nottingham, going hand in hand with the rapid return of the once mighty Nottingham Forest FC Bow Clap

Over an hour an hour and a half to go, currently on £46. Is this reasonable or would it be expected to go higher?
I'm not too clued up on how much programmes in job lots are worth, but happy with £50 anyway

I think as long as your happy with it, its a reasonable price. As has been siad on here recently, people on this forum have been throwing away boxfulls of modern programmes, because they don't consider them to be worth much. You can go to auctions like Vennett-Smiths and Sportingold, and pick up boxes of 500-750 programmes, from 70's-today for about £30, so I think you've done ok.

That's what i was thinking.
I had over 2 thousand a year ago, but then thought what's the point of collecting programmes that have no value to me, and truthfully no value at all. Pleased to see the back of them really, happy with my current Boston United collection to be honest.
