Has anyone forgotten Thames who played at West Hams Greyhoung Stadium worth a bob or two, they played in 1931 and in 1932 in Division three south.
Here's another off qouted attendence of 13 at Old Trafford for Stockport County v Liecester City in Division two on 7 May 1921 has since been discredited. Contempary newspaper reports indicate a crowd aproximately 2000. _________________ Harry says "UP THE AVENUE". |

RE the attendance of 13. I am fairly sure that there was a game played immediatley before the Stockport v Leicester game and about 2,000 fans stayed to watch both games but only 13 paid to just watch the 2nd game. |

In 1938 Halifax played Mansfield at Old Trafford in a FA Cup 2nd Round proper 3rd Replay the attendance that day was just 1219, United issued a programme which was a simple 4-page reserve type issue and is 'quite rare'. I always thought the match would be some sort of low record crowd for a league/cup match at Old Trafford, but it looks like the match with 13 spectators just beats it.. |

Why would you want to advertise what your budget is on a public forum? something smells.... _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

I am rich but you don't have to know, well I couldn't afford to by a Premier League Team, But I had thought of buying out Bradford Park Avenue, a few seasons ago but not now gone back into Football Programmes, it's not one of my greater needs at the moment, but if I had another Thames v Q P R match, I'd be on my way to the shops for a wedding ring! I need all the money I can get at the moment for the big event. _________________ Harry says "UP THE AVENUE".

Besides I don't think she would like me to buy the blooming thing again, once was enough when she thought I was buying an engagement ring, should have seen her face it was picture, trouble was anytime I needed lift to Programme fairs I was in for it. _________________ Harry says "UP THE AVENUE". |

Each of us have our own torcher stake to carry, why not live in Todmorden.
I'm not frightened of it, a lot of the muggers around here have butter still on their knives, it cant be all that bad, least you no which side you want your bread buttering.
nice market stooped in history for instance, we once had a team who twice made it to the first preliminary round of the F A Cup Portsmouth Rovers, well I live 5 miles outside Todmorden in a place called Portsmouth, not Hampshire Lancashire, our neighbors are Rochdale, Burnley and Halifax,
In between Todmorden and Halifax is another place stooped in history Hebden Bridge, well they made the first round preliminary but the other team won by a walkover, Hebden Bridge could not find a ground to play on, so the other team went through, that was 1913-14. _________________ Harry says "UP THE AVENUE". |

Whenever we play Burnley away we normally drink in Todmorden, its not that bad a place, and to be honest I'd rather drink in Tod than Burnley! _________________ Nottingham Forest Supporters Club

You cant drink in the Black Swan now it's shut, Scunthorpe fans have the same idea but they used to take the Black Swan over. _________________ Harry says "UP THE AVENUE". |

There was only 13 at Old Trafford. I was there and counted them. I had a fight with a bloke. He said i was in his seat. |

Todmorden - highest number of UFO sightings recorded in England; place where Harold Shipman had his 1st General Pratice; and site of one of the best bookshops around, Border Books. The guy who owns it is a big Burnley fan - but he doesn''t sell programmes!
Had to laugh at the idea of Scunthorpe fans taking over a pub on their way to Burnley - they must all have been beamed up by the UFOs on their way to the game judging by the number they used to bring to the Turf! |

They stayed their they didn't bother about football, but charnted out a couple of songs before the coach came to drive them home, I can't remember the last time I had so much fun in a pub singing songs Kevin Keegan.
The guy you say owns Border Books he is a very good friend of mine, he looks forward to the Accrington Stanley games, but if your downstair near the window and go to the football books and look down, in one of trays low and behold what do you see!!! FOOTBALL PROGRAMMES, he selling them at a pound each, Victor likes Cricket more often then not he also happens to go to Burnley matches as well, but don't support them he is mainly at book fairs, there's another place you can visit if you want programmes. _________________ Harry says "UP THE AVENUE". |

Border Books Shop,
Halifax Road,
Todmorden, Lancs,
OL14 5SB.
YOU can't miss if you are coming up from Halifax look for a new building the Todmorden Health Centre then look across the road, it will be right in front of your nose when you park your car at LIDLs. _________________ Harry says "UP THE AVENUE". |
