Spennymoor United /Hartlepool / Newcastle 1940's-1950's

Hello,

I am searching for a programme which my great uncle played in football for.

He was called Ted Copeland and played Right wing or Number 7.

Newcastle United 1939-1944
Hartlepool United 1944-1948
Spennymoor United 1948-unknown

I would love to be able to find a programme ideally for each team.

I'm in contact with the official Newcastle Utd historian so I've asked him if he has anything.

I've tracked his career as follows:-

Newcastle Utd

1943-4 20 games (3 goals)

Hartlepools Utd

1944-5 16 games (3 goals)
1945-6 23 games (5 goals)
1946-7 38 games (9 goals)

Then to Spennymoor Utd - no idea for how long or how many games.

I'll be back if I hear any more.

I am advised there's a full biography in the Newcastle Utd Ultimate Who's Who, by the historian Paul Joannou, who's been in touch with Ted's immediate family. Are you aware of this?

Pete, yes he asked us!

Just seems either no records of some season/stats or the programmes seem so expensive, which is a real shame. If I could find some!

I have the Spennymoor v Carlisle Reserves programme from the North Eastern League match played on 21 August 1948. He does not appear in the team line up in the programme.

I also have Carlisle Reserves v Spennymoor from 1946/7; 1947/8 and 1948/9 and he is not on the Spennymoor line up in the programme for any of those.

Will have a look for later issues tomorrow.
