Hi all,

I have been through various websites and binder suggestions on here for binders to store modern day programmes. By modern I am talking about the really chunky ones post 2000, basically magazines!

I have the offical Middlesbrough binders, trouble is they are too small now we play 23 games in the championship at home and are literally bursting at the seams. Also they are the string type which are hard to get them in when they are nearing capacity. I also have the added difficulty that all boro homes since about 2004 are square!

I am wanting to have them on display with binders labelled by season and with the club badge if possible in gold.

These are the best I have seen do far, but I dont think they will even hold 25 of the modern types.

How do others find best to store the modern versions?

Using those binders you've linked - 70mm capacity - will hold half a season IMO.

Yeah cheers Paul thats what I figured, want to try and store a full season if possible, surprised they dont make them with double inserts and longer for new seasons.

Is there anywhere anyone knows that sell ultra customisable ones, like badge printing, customisable binder format, the lot?

I use our club binders.
Have to buy three for each season now.
That holds all the home and away from the season.
Friendlies, league and cup games.

Although not as big as Football League programmes, I have the same issue with my Grantham collection for recent seasons, so I've opted for boxes:

Although I didn't pay those prices, I have Black and White and alternate for each season, each season fits in one box Smile

I have had to resort to having mine custom made- they are the clam style and are wide enough to take 23 programmes no probs- I also have had an everton crest "stamp" made to put on the spine along with "everton fc" etc
A bookbinder has made them for me but they are not cheap but do the job they are designed for- and I got a wider one made to accomadate the square issues like boro and Man utd. If you want more info let me know- as a ball park think they were £35 each!! They are on the bottom row if the image works!!

I use both the ones you found above (for older thinner seasons) and those below for modern issues.

Shame they don't fully customise the size of those as they look decent, I guess at max 25 you might be able to squeeze a full home or away set in each one.

That is one of the smartest things I have seen. Right up there with Leslie's shelves of binders.

Personally good quality plastic boxes are the way forward for me (as it takes one of those to hold everything from a season these days) but I do like to see the calm and order of shelves of binders!

Cheers lads, they look fantastic.

Grantham are they all the A4 binders from modern book binders? Or are they they A5 ones, Do you find the pockets sag and dip if you store them upright as you have done due to the weight of the modern programmes?

What do you do with square/irregular/A4 issues etc?

Ideally I just want to have 1 binder that will store A4 one offs and special/big match programmes, with 1 binder per season for home A5/square issues and 1 binder per season for away A5/Square issues. I would like them all to align neatly at the same height too and was wondering if I bought A4 size for all of them is it would work then my whole collection would be all A4 height Binder alligned which it looks like it is in your picture.

I think I will need 4 per season for the modern programmes, 2 for away and 2 for home each season.

Mine are the standard size ones

No sagging, but then again mine are non-league and not the 'books' you Football League followers have to suffer Smile

Email them directly as they offer a bulk discount on 20 binders at a time

I can try a Boro' square programme in the standard if you want ?

Hi Grantham that would be appreciated if you can, I think from the dimensions they give square programmes will be too big. From what I can see they have 15 pages each with a pocket is that right so will only store 15 modern programmes each?

I use this guy - J Wilson.

He was at the London Premier Programme Fair.

http://jwbinders.co.uk/binders/

Excellent quality and excellent service.

Admittedly the above are for 1940's and 1950's issues but from what I saw on his stall at the fair his answer to modern day storage looks good too.

Double sided, so can store 30 by default, for thinner seasons I add more pages. My 60's I have 50 programmes in a single folder

Excellent cheers for the pics, just need to see an example of programmebinders.co.uk now in order to make my mind up.

I've tried to contact modernbinders a few times by the contact form on their website but had no reply as of yet

Are these the ones with the rod type fitting rather then the screw type fitting? (Sorry I hope you know what I mean, not the best description I know!)

I use www.programmebinders.co.uk for recent issues. Work well for me and roughly around the £10 mark.
