Getting annoyed at the number of times I am getting item not received on ebay. The items are usually under a tenner, but are clearly addressed , with a return address on a stiff board envelope. Proof of postage is obtained but what a chase to get any compensation. Ebay don,t bother to reply and of course the buyer always gets a refund. Any comments please. |

That's a shame. Can't see what else you can do other than use recorded delivery. A lot of sellers refuse to post now unless it's recorded , even for low value items. Probably all to easy for buyers to say it never turned up and collect a refund. I doubt eBay will be bothered if the same buyer keeps playing the same con. |

Hello
I've been using Ebay since last year and as a buyer I have only had one item not arrive (low value and refunded).
You should maybe check the buyers rating on Ebay because if this is a high 99% rating (depending on the number of ratings given) the chances are the fault is with the post office.
It would be interesting to see feedback on this from other members to see if it's a particular area that stuff goes missing?
I've only sold 5 or 6 things myself and not had a problem
Cheers

AND - as i understand ,
If you want compensation from Royal Mail - they only compensate for the original cost of the item and ask for proof of the actual cost price not the inflated price paid by the buyer so the seller loses out all round .
In other words - a right time consuming exercise .
if the compensation system really worked no one should need to use RECORDED DELIVERY for items under a certain value . _________________ http://www.sportsattax.net/ Paypal accepted No Pies - Ticket stubs added daily |

Same here but nothing we can do. I dont even bother with the proof of post receipts now as to Ebay they arent worth zip. |

It all boils down to trust really. We trust the post office to deliver and also trust the buyer to not try it on saying they did not receive. This has happened on occassion, if its not recorded then a refund has to be swallowed. _________________ new listings nearly every day, programmes form every club, every era

I sent a bundle to Canada, contents £28 but worth more (a favour for a friend) cost £15.55 to post. an empty package arrived in bag with an apology from post Canada, I contacted Royal Mail, they said they could not pay me as I had no proof of the value of the contents, furthermore they refused to refund postal costs, some bull they gave me.They will lose out though, I do business in person now through Rangers contacts and I have a few new collectors buying from me, they pick up at my place or meet me at the match. |
