As my wants list gets smaller I need to find new ways to waste my money so am expanding my collection to include games featuring Plymouth Argyle Players.

in particular I am interested in finding trial matches, testimonials, representative matches and the like.

One I need for sure is North v South 56/7 @ Stockport

If anyone has knowledge of a programme featuring Argyle Players I would be grateful for a heads up as I want to try and compile a definitive list if possible.

Cheers and ( belated) HNY t one and all ( except any Southern Shrimpers this weekend!)

Peter

I do have the North v South 2 April, 57 Stockport programme with P.Langman playing and also the Palace programme for the return match 30 Oct 57 with Wilf Carter playing and scoring for the South in their 3 - 1 win.
Just out of interest, also have a couple of war time Fulham progs which show JONES (L) of Argyle guesting v Brentford 11 Oct 41 and v Reading 9 Dec 44. hope this may be of some small help.

Thanks for the info...looks Like Pat Jones was a regular in the Fulham team through the war...

The excellent www.fulhamfootballprogrammes.co.uk has plenty of pictures where he features...

More expense then

Peter

Peter: in addition to the 2 Third Division North v South games mentioned above, an Argyle man (Bill Shortt) was in goal for Wales v Rest of UK, on 5 Dec 1951 at Cardiff - FAW 75th Anniversary match.

It has a programme.

I'll also send you a PM about Johnny Williams.
