The recent friendly appears to be going for quite big money on E-Bay. I know that it was a VIP only issue, any idea of the number printed? Also does this mean that only a few copies made it back to the UK?

I don't know in this case but generally anything from 100-500 maybe 1,000 for media/VIP only jobs. Have you tried the Scottish dealers?

Note can I just absolutely 100% confirm there wasn't one for Poland v Rep of Ireland in November. I spoke to the media official. He said because both of us were getting new managers at the time they couldn't do one. I was at the game. I was in both the pressbox and VIP area afterwards and definitely no more than a teamsheet (black and white media , colour for VIPs). Neither of the Dutch crooks have bothered to even print one or maybe I should have said not yet. [/url]

Certainly does seem to be hit or miss with regard to Poland issuing of late.
Just thought that the price going so high so soon on e-bay, post-match suggested a scarcity of supply back in the UK. Last Scotland away issue I can recall (and may well be wrong in this) going so high in price so soon was the abandoned Spain game in 2004 (VIP again, and certainly very rare).

It was definitely VIP only and was not on sale at the stadium. I have heard varying figures as to how many were actually printed, anything between 500-2,000.

Certainly some have made their way back to the UK, but it's anyone's guess if more supplies raise their head from a Polish source. I would have thought they would be on ebay by now if there were.

That said, the Czech game in 2008 which saw the programme withdrawn before the match due to printing errors and was making vast sums for the few copies to surface in the weeks afterwards, eventually surfaced in reasonable numbers although it still makes anywhere between £40-£60 a copy.

The Spain game in 2011 was also very difficult but the resulting re-print by an English dealer somewhat undermined the value of originals.

I'm pretty sure the Spain v Scotland reprint was done by a Dutch collector and they were passed off as originals. David from PP reprinted Spain v England but has always made it very clear it was a reprint.

Yes,I recall the prices for the Czech edition. It is only that one, and the aforementioned Spain (2004) which I don't have, of recent Scotland aways (back to 2000). Haven't seen the Czech one on e-bay for a while now, though do also remember the £40-60 price range, which you mention. Just never picked one up at the time sadly.

Gary, PP did a re-print (marked as such inside the back cover) of the Spain 2011 issue, think 100 copies were done at £9.95 each.

Not heard of any re-prints from the Dutch source, although I do believe he did get hold of some originals.

A Spain 2004 went for £250 on ebay Buy It Now a couple of weeks back, a mate bought it. The Czech one appears now and again.

I wasn't aware of the actual reprint.

The Dutch source didn't get a few dozen. They were printed in Holland on slightly different paper to the original.

Those Dossier issues are printed in tiny numbers. The Northern Ireland one is incredibly rare. While the Scotland one isn't common quite a few have appeared and most originated in Holland.

I've no doubt the Scottish sources are genuine and the dealers etc were subsequently duped by the Dutch forger. He is banned from many clubs in Holland.

I'd be very wary of anything coming out of Holland. Issues such as Luxembourg v Scotland and Bayern v Man City are pure fakes.

Belarus is the other problem country for reprints. Georgia v Rep of Ireland 03 (reprint is a little darker I think but prob too late to confirm anything now) , Armenia 2010 (different colour stripe inside on the reprint), Bnei v Shamrock Rovers (reprint is shorter and fatter and a poor copy when compared with originals).

The normal method is to try and dupe a UK dealer into taking large numbers.

At this stage it is simply common sense that if nobody else has it and somebody in Holland has loads for sale.....

There were Northern Ireland fans trying to get the dossier too. I had tipped off some. It is still far far rarer than the Scotland one.

Yip, I think anything rare coming out of Holland these days has to be approached with absolute caution and thoroughly checked.

The Luxembourg issue was more a case of a pirate, it was at least being sold outside the stadium, and for €3, so slightly different from actually faking an original.

Not really encountered anything coming out of Belarus, handy to know for future though.

Thankfully our qualifying group should not present too many problems (apart from Poland). Gibraltar have issued for all three home games so far.
