What do you mean by "password has been compromised"? what exactly has happened?

Google (if you choose to allow) can store your passwords and remember them ...

I'm no computer expert, but if the site is compromised then I don't see how changing your password will prevent any repeat. It's the site & its software that is compromised here, not you.
