As with one or two others already on this thread, I don't have a working scanner at the moment. Would pictures be ok? There are only 3 programmes from this list I don't have which are the home match with Porto and the away ones against Grasshoppers and Jiul Petrosani. I recently saw on ebay a Spanish fans issue for the Barcelona away match in 1987, but there is definitely no official programme for this match.

Hope this is of use!

Middlesbrough in Europe

2004/5 UEFA Cup

1st Rd
Middlesbrough 3-0 Banik Ostrava
Banik Ostrava 1-1 Middlesbrough Two issues, one official and one pirate

Group E
Egaleo 0-1 Middlesbrough No programme
Middlesbrough 2-0 Lazio
Villarreal 2-0 Middlesbrough Three issues and a newspapaer. One prog says official but I doubt it. The other 2 progs are a similar size but in Spanish.
Middlesbrough 3-0 Partizan Belgrade. Partizan issued a 64 page magazine to cover the group stages

3rd Rd
Grazer AK 2-2 Middlesbrough No programme
Middlesbrough 2-1 Grazer AK

4th Rd
Middlesbrough 2-3 Sporting Lisbon
Sporting Lisbon 1-0 Middlesbrough Two issues. Prog says official but I doubt it + O Jogo magazine

2005/6 UEFA Cup

1st Rd
Middlesbrough 2-0 Skoda Xanthi
Skoda Xanthi 0-0 Middlesbrough No programme but two pirate issues

Group D
Grasshoppers 0-1 Middlesbrough Two issues, one official and one pirate
Middlesbrough 3-0 FC Dnipro
AZ Alkmaar 0-0 Middlesbrough Official programme issued
Middlesbrough 2-0 Litex Lovech

3rd Rd
Stuttgart 1-2 Middlesbrough Two issues. One official and one that says official but I doubt it
Middlesbrough 0-1 Stuttgart

4th Rd
Middlesbrough 1-0 Roma
Roma 2-1 Middlesbrough No programme but one pirate

Quarter Final
Basel 2-0 Middlesbrough Official programme issued
Middlesbrough 4-1 Basel

Semi Final
Steau Bucharest 1-0 Middlesbrough No programme but newspapers produced pre & post game
Middlesbrough 4-2 Steau Bucharest

Final
Middlesbrough 0-4 Sevilla Official programme issued plus numerous unofficial issues

The above are issues that I have in my collection. Middlesbrough issued full programmes for all their European Home games.

I have found that Away programmes in Europe are a nightmare to obtain and it’s difficult to say what’s official and what isn’t. To exasperate things, some British based pirate programmes surfaced for the away ties. The question arose ‘do I buy them or do I leave them?’ As Boro playing in Europe was a novelty, I bought them.

20 years after nearly going extinct we were playing in a European Final. Happy days Smile

Which scans of programmes are you looking for now ?
I have all Leeds United ECs, except Away at Hajduk Split and Spora Luxembourg, and missing many of those Russian pirate issues. For one game Leeds played in Russia 35 pirate programmes were issued. Every third Russian fan ran his own printing press it seems. So I don't bother with those. This is 137 programmes in all including both versions of the FC Zurich vs Leeds from EC 1974/75.
I have all 3 of Hibernians home games in the very first EC in 1955.
I have Glenavon vs Aarhus from EC 1957/58,
Ards vs Stade de Rheims from EC 1958/59, Red Star and FC Barcelona vs Wolves from EC 1959/60, Eintracht Frankfurt vs Rangers from EC 1959/60, Young Boys Berne vs Limerick from EC 1960/61, Nuremburg vs Drumcondra from EC 1961/62, and a few other European aways in the 1960s, including both versions of the Floriana vs Ipswich Town from EC 1962/63. I can send a complete Excel spreadsheet to someone if you like and you can tell me which you would like a scan of.

The Leeds european collection is very impressive, don't really collect aways but have been looking at the prices and there is certainly a few quid in that collection.

I have all the homes, and some of the easier to find aways and have offered previously to send some scans, but a job shared is a job shared. maybe i do the homes and you do the aways?

Do you collect Leeds programmes or just the European ones?

I collect other Leeds programmes as well, mainly FA Cup ties.
If you go to Facebook - Leeds United Memorabilia page I just posted four of my collection, including Leeds' record win on Jan 11th., 1930 8-1 vs Crystal Palace. My favourite front cover for all Leeds' programmes is the Peacock edition from the 1947/48 season. I have about 4 or 5 of those.
Yes, I spend some silly money on these, but I can afford it. I have no debt, cars nor homes, am an old man now - don't need to save for old age - it's already here ! I haven't seen the Hajduk Split programme in years. Mick Hewitt got two in the 1990s and haven't seen any since. I don't see Leeds being in Euro Competition for a few years. Storage is getting to be the main problem. These modern programmes take up way too much space.

Just checked the page out, looks like it's another website page that could eat up some time.

Must agree that the 1947-48 programme cover is a good one, have 3 of them but you never know in the future may 'gain' more. The Spora one was on Mick's latest offers list I think. End date has been and gone though.

If i see it offered anywhere will let you know.

No objection to spending silly money, just wish i had it to spend, the missus is an accountant so that tends to be a stumbling block!! Shake

I don't have any Leeds Utd scans at the moment so if you guys want to sort out who sends what that may be alot easier for you.

I was originally planning to include scans of all known pirates but with certain away games every man and his dog seem to knock something up on the computer to sell on, especially with the Eastern European countries. So due to that we'll leave the pirates out.

Kavjack, if you could also send me the scans of the other teams in Europe you have, that'll be fantastic!

Thanks again guys.

I have all of the European Cup games for all teams in a Microsoft Access database for the years from 1955 to 2003.
These are European (Champions) Cup only - no Cup-Winners Cup nor UEFA Cup.
Fields in the database are:
ID
SEASON
Round
Playoff
Home_Team
Home Country
Home Goals
Away_Team
Away Country
Away Goals
Won_on_penalties (Yes/No)
Venue
Neutral (Yes/No)
Date_Played
Programme_Issued (Yes/No)
The format of the EC has changed over the years so not all fields will be applicable for a particular season. There 3,815 games in my database.

Actually it's 87 matches, I also included the Postponed match against Varteks (2001 UEFA Cup).
It was Postponed after the World Trade Center attacks and played a week later with the original programme issued.

Pagiemcfc, thanks for the list for Man City. I have just updated the spreadsheet with all games.

Just a few questions..

1) According to your list, there have been 10 games with no programme produced. These are Fenerbahce (68 ), Atletico Bilbao (69), SK Lierse (69), Honved (70), Gornik Zabrze (71), Valencia (72), Juventus (76), AC Milan (78 ), Lokeren (03) and FC Kobenhavn (09). Is this right?

2) Were teamsheets or pirate programmes produced for the above games?

3) Do you know what games had pirates produced for them?

Question for the Leeds collectors.

In 1974/75 you played Anderlecht in the European Cup Quarter Final 2nd Leg. This was due to be played as an away game for you lot but the game was played at a neutral ground.

Do you know which ground this was and why it was played there?

Peter, Love , i mean Barrett

Cardiff once played a game at a neutral ground as they couldnt get a work permit to play in the oppositions company. Maybe this was why?
