Post subject: Anglo Italian Cup - Information wanted
Reply with quote

Hey everyone, i've started looking at the Anglo Italian Cup and as i have a bit of time on my hands at present so have been trying to find a complete list of all the games, however have come up a bit stuck, I've only been looking at the tournemnt when it involved the League clubs rather than the Non league clubs in the seasons 69/70 - 72/73 92/93 - 95/96 (plus the special one off Anglo Italian Cup comp where the League Cup winners played the Italian Cup winners over two legs between 69/70 -72/73 and 75/76 and 76/77)

Below is a list of all the home games i have found out about but i have also seen in some dealers catalogues games I can't find including Chesterfield home games and also other games in 94/95 and 95/96. If anyone knows of any games I'm Missing please post a reply so i can get a complete list, as maybe when i'm back up and running i'm considering starting collecting all the English teams home game programmes (at present I've got 183 to collect)

I know that it isn't worth squat but I have a colour photocopy of the Bologna v Huddersfield programme. Simply a folded sheet of A4!
I've been outbid twice on originals when they have come up and gone for daft money.

Correction - I've now got one!! Easy
Decent price too; just over £16 on eBay. Expected to pay an awful lot more! Easy

West Ham info: Fiorentina away 75/6, never seen anything. I went to the Cremonese and Cosenza games in 92/3. Cremonese there were two stadium issues, both quite easy to find, one pink & one white. In Cosenza there was nothing at all issued but I did manage to bring home a very large & colourful match poster.

Hi though I am not a Crystal Palace fan, in the early 1970's I saw several matches at Selhurst, including 3 of the 4 Anglo Italian matches.

I have my programme for the 1971 games v Cagliari and Inter, and have been able to get the results since then, but does anyone know where I can Find a match report for both games WHICH MUST INCLUDE FULL LINE-UPS, SUBS, SUBS USED AND WHO FOR.

I also attended the 1973 Lazio game, but not the Verona game,I used to have the Verona programme, but not the Lazio one, for which a full report is also required.

thank you

john

John,

I'd suggest calling Croydon Central Library as I would imagine they would have either hard copies or microfiche of all the Croydon Advertiser newspapers of the time. For sure, they'd have reports but couldn't say whether the paper normally had the line-ups
