Try not to take tooooooo much offence hear Swansea Fans but LEGENDS ????
IVE NEVER HEARD OF THEM ! ! ! !
If i was to use the word "LEGEND" it would be for a player who was known up and down the country and even Non-Footie followers would have heard of them.
I thought "Leon Britten" was a fat politian who had a boil on his head ![/b] |
LOL quality assessment of mr britton being a chelsea fan I thought you would of heard of Roger " Fatty " Freestone, as he was with you as a youth player |

That would be Leon Brittain
What the description doesn't tell you is that it was also probably signed by such legends as Keiron Durkan, Michael Howard (no, not that one!), Stuart Jones and Jamie Rewbury. |

What does everyone think of this item?:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1998-99-.....240%3A1318
I know its part of Man Utd's treble winning season but £30 for an ordinary 10 year old league programme with a cover price of £2? |

There are one or two (or maybe 10 or 20) cowboys out there on Ebay.
For example:
(Everton/Goodison related)
England v Portugal 1951 BIN £200 (typical price £40-60)
England v N Ireland 1947 Pirate BIN £200 (typical £30-50)
1949 Semi - Wolves v Man Utd BIN £150 (typical £70-90)
1953 England v N. Ireland BIN £150 (typical £30)
1950 Semi - Everton v Liverpool BIN £100 (typical £30-40)
1963 Charity Shield Everton v Man U BIN £75 (typical £20-40)
another one BIN at £60
1949 Everton v Man U BIN £75 (typical £30)
And the piece-de-resistance:
1961 Everton v Spurs BIN £75 (typical £15-25) |

Post subject: overpriced Manchester United Reserve programmes |
|
|
Recently on Ebay a few Manchester United Reserve single sheet programmes have gone for really high prices. They were all early 80s ,and from different sellers .Each one went for really ridiculous prices in my opinion ,and for the life of me I cannot understand why.In this era of the early 80s the programme was a single sheet ,one sided.I am not a 100% expert on Manchester United prices ,but I have good knowledge of valuations .The pre-60s single sheet ,info both sides ,with token ,can bring up to £10+ admitted ,but surely not these 80s items ,and I am wondering why? : If someone paid the prices however there must be some reason .At the time as I attended many reserve games in the 80s they were given away free, and to be perfectly honest they are really easy to photocopy. If I did so and was going to sell I would state that ,and ask the proverbial peanut price, however I havent had the inclination to do so far despite the credit crunch. |

This looks strange for Man U reserves (60s v Everton) - what does everyone think?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250403596535
2 bids £41. First bid (seemingly) of greater than £40 and a second bid of £40 (just one bid) insufficient to take the lead. With both purchasers not named (identity kept private) it strikes me that the seller might be scalping (is this the right word) - probably using his own separate (2nd/3rd) accounts to bump the price.
Just seems a little contrived that someone would try to outbid the first bid with such a high first bid that's all. You might think that, from 99p start the 2nd bidder might try £5 or £10 (for example). |

You seem astute. It's far more common than anybody realises. |

Could be right Jim,
I'm after this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hereford.....7C294%3A50
and have been watching it for 6 months but his prices never budge. If it don't sell its relisted at the same price, over & over again. If the guy relists at BIN or Best Offer, I would give him an offer and he could sell at a 'sensible price'. |

Why are these two so highly priced,as most of his other stuff seems to be listed at £3-4? _________________ PLEASE check out my Prostate Cancer UK charity auction page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1550474568596587/ |

Is that Dave Allen the seller? Always been pricey but does have a lot of stuff that rarely come up. |

It is Dave Allen. There won't be any reductions in price so don't hold out for it. I sold same programme last year at Pudsey Fair for £16. It's not that elusive... |
