Seriously? Just had a look at Clydebank Programmes for sale on here, that's scary lol . cheapest one he has is £14.99 and every one of them are worth a £1. The Chelsea friendlies he has at £125 each Shocked they are both worth about £6 - £10 depending on who wants to buy them. Like everyone else says , I'm almost a millionaire as well if I sell up. Cool

I paid a fiver recently for the Sunderland v Dukla Prague game - he's asking £45 - and most of the 60s Sunderland programmes that he is quoting between £20-£25 for, cost me between 50p and £1

The saga continues. The Russian youth programme mentioned earlier in the thread is being bid up by the vendor of the same expensive programme with consummate skill. What a con merchant !!!

yes, the 501 feedback is a bit of a giveaway..... trying to inflate the price of the lesser-costing item to make his own inflated one seem more 'reasonable" ?

I challenged his prices a few months ago. I was looking for Villa tickets from the 80s & 90s and he was charging £10 - £20 for bog standard tickets which are worth a couple of quid tops. He claimed that he charges that much as the software he bought for the website was £20000!

Question for the tight arse bedroom bandits on here

How much would you charge on E BAY for a programme from the current season or the last few seasons ?????????????

I'm not a tight arse bedroom bandit, but in answer to the question, I think current season programmes (in mint condition of course) should be charged OVER cover price. If you're not at the game and also not organised or connected enough to get someone to get you one at the game, then you should expect to pay a small premium.

Stuff from last season, a pound under cover price.

Fully understand dealers holding their prices though, and even increasing them if they think they can get it (due to value going up because of rarity etc) Good luck to the sellers I say, thy take the risk holding their stocks in the hope of future sales

Any older and to be honest its pretty much worthless (unless it's a rare one, sold out on the day game, or a 'big match' etc.

FWIW, I think BF&E are brilliant, got a yearbook from them that had eluded me for about 20 years, and a couple of match posters as BINs which I would have potentially paid a lot more for if I'd had to bid in auctions for them. Delivery is quick, packing is alright, and they have loads of stuff to choose from

Programme £3 - £3.50 cover price at £2.99 post free its a bargain

Postage is £1.65 + Ebay fees. Paypal fees, envelope, tape, BUYING THE PROGRAMME in the first place and a trip to the post office.
What would you sell it for ANSWER THE QUESTION . Confused

Last month I bought a batch of very mixed England photos off EBay and it worked out I paid on average about £1.50 per photo in this batch. I was happy with that as although some were very average, 2 or 3 were gems, such as the one below (England Youth, 1963) which I put on my website for £10. I think that is a fair price for such a great photo and gives me a generous profit which I am more than happy with (although it's still a lot less than I paid for the whole batch). It sold on the morning I uploaded it to my website.

The buyer has chosen to put this photo on EBay at £49.99 and last week it went unsold. It's been relisted at the same price and the hammer goes down tomorrow. There are no bids on it as yet.

Now, I know I'm a dealer and maybe (who knows?) a "bedroom bandit" (that's where I'm sitting right now, after all!) but did I overcharge @ £10? Or has my buyer got it hugely wrong and is he the real bedroom bandit?

And here's a dilemma - should I refuse orders from this buyer?

I wouldn't want to sell to him as he is clearly a bedroom bandit. Laughing
Having said that, you made a little money, he hasn't so why not ?
You know realistic prices better than anyone. Some press photos on eBay have stupid prices.

Interesting question Pete.

To be honest, you don't really know the buyer, and he bought something from you in the hope he can sell it on for a profit above what he paid plus all his little overheads. Good luck to him (assuming it's a him!)

I have quite a lot of collecting contacts with regard to very 'specialist' collectors stuff. Quite a lot of people would think of me if they wanted to sell on something rare and unusual. If I buy something from a friend or close 'contact' which was privately offered to me, then I personally wouldn't then try to sell it on for a profit.

I'm not a 'dealer' in any way, and very rarely sell stuff at all, but just think if I've been 'chosen' to be offered something rare or unusual at a fair price, that it would be poor form to then profit from it.

However despite saying all that, for many dealers, it is a case of 'business is business' and rightly so. And fair play if they can get things at bargain cost and sell high, fair play.

Always wondered though, do 'dealers' get attached to stuff, and not want to sell it? Must be hard getting super rare or really special things that you love, but know that you really need to sell it as that's your business.

Peter, if you were happy with what you got from the buyer in the first instance why would you not sell to him again?

If he thinks he's going to make a huge profit on it, and then doesn't, then more fool him in the first place.

Email him you have some very nice similar items for sale asap.

can't see he has done anything different to you....bought an item and then tried to sell it for more. You put it on your website for a fixed price and he bought it. Maybe if he was a friend/acquantaince and you sold it well below what you would charge others then I agree that is out of order. But he was just a regular punter who thought he spotted a chance to make a few quid. I guess time will tell if he was right but he was only doing what you and any other dealer does.

Of course they have, because all the banana boxes of s**** they hoover up on the cheap at auctions, by the law of averages you're going to come up with a few good ones amongst the 'so called tat'

'Tat' that you're so keen to tell us is the habitat of 'the bedroom bandit'

and yet you're so keen to castigate bedroom bandits on here, but so resolute to defend BFE.

Why?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-0.....487ac01801

Good luck with that one.

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.
