Programmes with cards or stickers included.

I am interested in programmes that include cards or stickers in them. Cardiff City programmes included a 'Sticker Collection' in 2002/03 and 'Player Cards' in 2006/07. Other clubs have produced similar items - I think Ipswich Town included cards this past season, while Leicester City have done something similar recently. Some years ago Oxford United and Sheffield Wednesday produced their own sticker collections.

My mian interest is to catalogue these programmes, listing the fixture details along with what cards or stickers were included with each particular issue - any clubs, any season.

I am still trying to complete a checklist of inserts included with the Aston Villa official programme called 'Our Portrait Gallery' between 1906 and 1915 - 355 different photos during that period and I'm missing details from just 6 issues.

If anyone can help by listsing any they may have in their collections that would be a great help, but I would also be interested in purchasing any such programmes.

Any information or help would be very much appreciated.

Norwich have done it recently as have Manchester City.

I have some of both programmes with cards for sale at £1 if interested.

Leeds done it in either 2002/03 or 2003/04. I believe it was 03/04 and they were cards.

I have them in my collection but not for sale.

Boro inserted cards in their programmes during the 2004/5 season. Known as the Riverside X cards, there were 38 player cards in total - 2 in each league programme. There was also an album produced to put them in.

Peterborough United programmes last season included 'Player Cards' with two in each league programme (46 cards in total). At the end of the season the club organized an event by which fans could get the player cards they collected during the season signed by the squad.

i've just put a derby county v lincoln city 2008/09 on ebay and while looking through it i notice the back cover folded out and there are 4 post card size pictures of squad players.these are perforated so you can split all 4 up.on the bottom it says all 1st team squad players will be featured during the 1st half of the season,so collect the full set.
so thats another one for your list alan

Season 07/08 we had stickers in every programme to collect,put into an album,send off to the club to get free shirts for the kids,wonderful idea,we got relegated.

Leeds did in 03/04 there are 4 stapled to the centre pages of the Bolton programme

Pretty sure WBA did some with stickers to collect in them not sure if it was 2004/05 or not but its around then

Not sure if these fit into your category, but, from my collection:

2003 Champions League final Milan v Juventus came with a postcard
1992 FA Cup final Liverpool v Sunderland came with keyring attached to cover + poster
Watford v Liverpool 87-8 came with a Watford Clubcall card attached to cover
Aston Villa v CSKA Moscow 08-9 UEFA came with cover mount hologram

Derby collector here.
Thats right every programme through the season had postcard sized pictures attached to the cover so you could detatch them if so desired.

!972/73, Pompey's 75th anniversary, 8 programmes had a loose photo approx 10 x 5 of 2 players in each to collect.

Thanks for helping out. I knew about these photos, the programme for the game against Cardiff City included a photo. It's only within the last couple of years that I've been able to complete a list of the players featured.

Shrewsbury Town included sheets of 4 cards with their programme throughout the 2010-11 season.

The 100 card collection was issued to commemorate the clubs 125th Anniversary.
