bloody hell, this guy has been at it for years. I bought a ticket from him about 3 years ago and never received it. He changed his ID and listed all the same items that previously he had apparently sold. I complained to eBay and they shut his new ID down. Shortly after he started under a new ID. I complained to eBay. They shut his new ID down. A few months later he started again and I just gave up. Fortunately I only paid a quid or two so it wasn't a major issue.

Maybe when I am feeling stronger and if footyretrouk is him again we could catalogue this history and write to eBay and also send a letter to Devon Police. I know about one dealer in the past (a guy called Chris Kendall in Derby) who seemed to be very lax with supplying the goods and I believe the police got involved (see more info on the Programme Monthly website blacklist).

eBay must not be allowed to abdicate responsibility for not shutting down fraudsters.

Ebay dont give a monkeys as long as they make loads of money, its full of fraudsters and theifs, just look at our hobby, there was a seller a couple of years ago (from uruguay) selling 1950 world cup final programmes (in mint condition) 1930 & 1950 world cup tickets (again in mint condition & stamped), now after a couple of years these have found there way back on to ebay and collectors are buying them as originals as there now being sold by uk ebayers (who dont know that there fakes), Ebays a great place for adding to and building your collection quickly but has put a big "spanner" into our hobby, as for this fella Matthew Betts goes he stung me for £8.88 for some 2006 world cup tickets (I claimed back the monies through pay-pal) I never had a chance to leave feedback as his account was closed, his trading name at the time was seventiessocceruk.

(Cheers Mr G for the info Bow ).

Thanks for this boys, why is this man not being charged by the police, a few quid and you could argue it is wasting police time but £225!
Also why doesn't paypal get involved? If you can claim for non receipt you would think they could prove that this guy is a crook!

I read the feedback. It seems he quickly builds up a good reputation and once there he does his scam. Worth watching new ebay accounts with great care!

Is the following possible - or too dangerous/ridiculous?

So, what we do is 2 of us get a new account and - at the last minute on a nil purchase item bid something ridiculous for it

a) £5,000
b) £5,001

and then tell him where to stick it........

Since ebay take as much interest in recovering non-sent goods as in making sure customers pay for it...

Then this c**t will get a heart-attack when he sees £5K bid on some tuppence happence piece of shit...

Here's an interesting one. A rugby programme sold on 30th May for 40 quid:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SCOTLAND.....414fe25f33
It's now been relisted by (I assume) the buyer with a start price of 20 and a 'buy it now' of 50.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SCOTLAND.....4cefdd0902

He's even copied and pasted the description e.g. ."AS PAPER WAS VERY SCARCE IT WAS DECIDED TO RE-USE IT FOR THE DATE THE GAME EVENTUALLY TOOK PLACE ON 13TH APRIL WITH THE ORIGINAL DATE CRUDELY SKETCHED OUT EVENTUALLY THE POWERS THAT BE DECIDED TO RE-PRINT A NEW PROGRAMME FOR THE GAME"
The only difference is he's changed it from 7/10 to 8/10

how ridiculous. The picture is identical suggesting same item. It clearly cannot have been a genuine purchase originally. If it goes now for £50 the buyer will actually receive about £43 after ebay and paypal fees. They would have bought it for £41.49 including p&p. Why spend that kind of money for a £1.50 return ? If final price is less than the £50 he/she will have lost money. This clearly does not stack up.

Here's another one that makes me cross. He's suggesting that this is autographed. I sent him a message to point out that this is how the programme was printed (with the printed signature of the WRU chairman,), he didn't change it though. Scumbag.
