Hi,

Just a quickie to let you know I have set up my own website cataloguing my Donny Rovers collection.

I had used Flickr, but have gone down the route of creating my own, gives me a bit more flexibility.

Hope you enjoy!

Excellent stuff. It must have taken you a while? Good to see all those programmes, websites like this should be compulsory!! I'd like to do one like that but I'm not great with technology.

It wasn’t too bad, as I could import my scans direct from Flickr. It probably took me about 4 weeks doing a couple of hours per day adding the programme details etc
There are many websites out there who provide you with templates, most offer a free version initially to see if it will allow you to do what you want. I tried a few then went with Wix, the only downside I could see is that it doesn’t offer a search option that works on photos/scans, although I believe it’s something they are looking at.
Cheers
Gavin

Very impressive

From a design point of view, is it possible to hide or minimise the "Let's Chat" bar at the bottom of the page?

Just that it leave quite a narrow strip in the middle to see the programmes

The "Let's Chat" bar may be large on a phone but it's small and inobtrusive on a pc.

Very impressive, well done on all your hard work. Easy

Let me have a look at it, it’s been designed predominantly for a PC but can be tailored for mobile devices.

Thanks for the feedback, all greatly appreciated

Cheers
Gavin

I think I have sorted it, the ‘let’s chat’ should now only show on pages without programme images

Thanks again for the feedback

Cheers
Gavin

That's brilliant Gavin

Managed a quick look there but will definitely set some time aside for a proper look later.

My favourite obviously being the Stirling Albion away fixture in April 51 for the benefit match for legendary Albion captain Jock Whiteford. Cracker.

Cheers

Jim

It doesn’t come around very often that one, I think I have seen it on sale twice in the past decade!

Excellent work Gavin, nicely done.

I will add a link to the site from my sites.

How much customisation have you had to do from the templates provided by Wix?

Not too much at all, and what I did was relatively simple.

If you fancy it, best thing to do is set up a free account and have a little play around (I did that with a few providers to get a feel on what would work best for me). I’m also happy to help you, if you would find that beneficial.

The only negative for me is that there is no search engine for the galleries/photos, but I believe this is something they are looking at.

Cheers
Gavin

Spent a wee while on it on Sunday. Terrific. Very clear and well laid out.
