Great thread

So I have worked from home for almost ten years so in many ways it is the rest of you catching up

We have two of our three that have boomeranged back home...one qualified as a nurse in January so talk about a baptism of fire although she now works in a private hospital where they a re ploughing through the NHS backlog of hips and Knees that need replacing

The other one home his now invalided from the army after she buggered her foot and they managed not to MRI and spot how bad it was...she misses it but has finally had the op she needed and is doing her physiology with a plan to join the police next year....she still has work from the cafe she was working in before.

Sadly her and her twin had their 21st during this lockdown which was a damp squib and my wife has a big one next week which again is a shame.

As for the football, I am an exile so I am actually enjoying seeing regular games ( except for the pizza cup) on iFollow so am seeing more than usual. Hate the echoing of the empty stadium though.

Wife has embarked on a DIY refurb of our spare downstairs room ( although is resisting the idea of a pool table) and the local dog walking community all get together on the common behind where we live for what is now called the Woof Woof Club....even has its own whats app group...which means we get to socialise the dogs ( new Scnauzer pup plus aged lab) and to a lesser extent ourselves....

Stay well everyone

Keep writing on here, get involved, find some friends locally if you can, not sure how old you are but do you have a U3A locally?

University of the Third Age. It's a movement to encourage retired/older people back into learning or activity

Im very lucky in many ways in that my job comes under the key worker category therefore i dont have to worry about losing employment and i still have my family at home so lonlieness is not an issue

But i do feel for the many that are not in my position and this is a great thread to highlight what a great group of people is on here.

Would anyone be interested in weekly or bi weekly zoom/team meetings for people on the forum

Even if its just half an hour to sit with a cuppa and have chat about anything, football or whatever

A virtual pub if you like?

Might help those who are struggling a bit with what is going on
