The game was in Watford, not France. The visitors from Paris made a short tour to England and lost 11-0 to Southampton Reserves on 1 April, then played Watford.

No idea where you got the Otaga v Luton Town (1977) as the earliest foreign international for Luton but is definitely incorrect as that was the fourth game of an end of season tour.

The tour started in the US v St Louis Stars, followed by two games v NZ National XI in Auckland and Wellington, then Otago followed by Canterbury.
The tour concluded with two games against the New Caledonia National XI and one against the Fiji National XI.

Luton had several end of season tours to Ireland in the late 1940s and early 1950s but the first game I am aware of outside the British Isles was Barcelona v Luton Town, 26 January 1956. Knocked out of the FA Cup they were invited to a Spanish Liberation Festival game.

I am not sure this is the absolute first foreign international, my pre-war Luton history is a bit limited. Feel free to correct me if you know another earlier game.

the above link will show a players itinerary for the Austro-Hungarian Tour of 1908 as well as a few other items but no programmes.

To my knowledge these are the only items that have ever surfaced, yet programmes have been unearthed when some British clubs travelled to that part of Europe at the turn of the 20th Century.

This is the oldest game I can find where a programme was definitely issued.

It's highly likely that programmes exist for the other games you mention, if anyone can confirm I will amend the list.

As Leslie suggests, programmes are being unearthed all the time, so who knows what's round the corner? ! Smile

SWINDON TOWN
OLDHAM ATHLETIC
FORFAR ATHLETIC

both added to the list btw

Programmes exist for the St Louis Stars and New Zealand National XI games (a combined programme for both games), plus Otago and Canterbury.

The earliest away International game programme for Luton I have is CCA Romania Wed May 23 1956.

There are others prior to 1977 with programmes:
May 1 1957 BSG Motor Zwickau Germany
May 12 1957 SSV/Hertha BSC Germany
May 9 1958 SSV/Hertha BSC Germany
May 3 1960 Bratislava Czech
? ? 1960 Jednota Koscise Czech (anyone have a spare of this one?)

I have found a game prior to the Barcelona one, 5 May 1955 Danish Combination XI (Idretsparken)

Hi

There was a programme produced for Swindon's 3-0 away win at Napoli in the Anglo-Italian Cup final on 28 May 1970.

Hi

Do you know the date of this issue?

I have found evidence of a OOST-NEDERLAND V LEICESTER CITY programme from 17/05/1952. Maybe this is older?

You can amend Chelsea away to Blauw Wit in Holland 9/5/1936.
There were matches in May 1906 against a Danish X1 and Southampton in Denmark in 1906 but no programmes have ever surfaced.
