Hi all. I have received a programme for the 1937 Scottish cup final which belonged to my late father. I was wondering if someone could provide a rough idea as to how much this could be worth? And what would you say is the best way to go about selling it, presumably eBay?

Sorry to hear about your late father.

The programme, assuming it is original, and not a modern reprint, will be worth a large amount. (No idea if there has indeed even been a modern reprint of this particular programme, but it is always something to bear in mind, as it would be the difference between a 4 figure sum and four quid). A good specialist auction house should be able to guide you

Auction is the best way to go IMO, whether you choose ebay or a reputable auction house such as Sportingold, Graham Budd, Sporting Memorys etc is up to you.

I would say that against selling on ebay is the chance that you could get scammed - what if the buyer claims they never received it, and demands their money back.

I'd also be very wary of people making you direct offers, personally I believe if you let it run its course in an auction, you should achieve the best price, as any interested purchasers will effectively be competing against each other.

Best of luck with it!

Interesting, some would say amazing, how often new posters on here seem to acquire such rarities.

I can bet when I get left stuff, it will be mountains of worthless 1970's!

Thanks both for your replies. It is indeed an original, I even found the original ticket inside as well.

I think I will try to sell through an auction house, as given the potential value suggested I would appreciate the extra security rather than risk going through ebay. There's an auction house local to me in Glasgow where I might get lucky with some interested Celtic fans!
