My prized possession is my grand fathers copy of the programme from the 1940 war time cup final, it’s a players copy with signatures of all the players. It’s in good condition apart from rusty staples and signs of a fold down the middle from when I folded it to take it to school when I was a child.

I’d like to know if it’s valuable and worth insuring separately on my contents insurance, although no monetary value could replace its value to me.

Thanks.

It sounds wonderful!

Any chance you could please scan the signed pages and show them here, or maybe list the names of the players who have signed?

That would help someone better than me to value it.

Unfortunately it’s with my father at the moment as he is cataloging everything we have to do with his dad so I can’t scan it, but all the players from both sides have signed it next to their names on the centre page.

Check your household insurance, but I'd imagine the single item limit would be something like £1250, which would cover it.

Important think is that it is kept somewhere safe, secure, and dry, not cold and damp like a shed or an attic

West Ham v Blackburn. Some well known names if not household. West Ham won and players celebrated by either going back to their units or to the Boleyn Arms pub.

Dorking is right about storage but no idea about value.
