I understand that the Derby County progamme in the 1970's was a newspaper. Does anyone know how long it was published like this for?

That's right, The Ram newspaper programme began in 1971/72 and ended in 1982/83. The first 10 or so issues for the 1979/80 season reverted to standard programmes before the newspaper format made a comeback.

Anyone else really hate them ? Or is it just me.

I have a special shelf in my storage room for all newspaper programmes, but never look at them, whilst I will quite happily sit and read any other programme.

Not sure where the hatred comes from, as I will quite happily look at newspapers for the sports sections

On the subject of Derby, can any Derby expert advise me whether there was a programme produced for the game against Doncaster on 28/11/84. I have the programme for the original postponed game on 3/11/84 but never seen one for the re-arranged game. Cheers for any help.

No programme was issued for the rearranged Doncaster game. Sometimes Derby produced an A5 insert update for the new game but didn't on this occasion.

"The Ram" was also produced sporadically in the late 80s but was not a programme, more a club magazine.
Although, yes, storage is an issue for the collector, as a voice of the club it could often be quite controversial in its views and, when Harry Brown was editor, not afraid to criticise the club itself on occasions.

Never mind - nowadays, we have our nice, bland, glossy marketing brochure which doubles up as a programme!
