Has anyone seen this type of item before? Its a Chewing Gum wrapper issued in Israel.

I wonder who else was in this series?

it measures 2.5 x 2.25 inches.

Cheers, Ian

Cheers Auchinleckian,

I thought it was obscure, but the beauty of this forum, is that you find out that you know nothing and that someone pulls out a photo of the whole collection!

Cue....the Man Utd officinado’s.

Thanks for your comments.

Thanks Holtie,

That’s very kind of you, Twitter is not my strong subject.

Do you think Chewing Gum wrappers would come under the scope of Football Cards? You may be right however.

I await with baited breath.

Okay, I have made a breakthrough.

It is issued by Pam Pam Factory.

Unela, Kyriat, Arie, Israel.

They produced a set of Football National Teams.

Those I have managed to see a copy of is:

Brazil
England
France
Yugoslavia
Hungary

This may not be all?

The Date is more likely c 1960, but the photos are older.

The English players I have seen are: Howe, Kevan,Clayton,Haynes,Wright,Douglas, & Charlton

Interesting judiaca.

that's a rarity World Cup 1958 gum from Israel. If we consider that Israel was tiny back then, long before it took over Palestinian lands West Bank & Gaza, Sinai from Egypt and Golan from Syria, all of which increased its pop, the '58 pop of Isr. was tiny = very few of these made .series England squad, Yugo, Hung, Brazil, France etc. MANY in series, incl, Pele. Is this for sale? Can you get it/or more?

Cheers Holtie,

Yes I have it in my possession. I don’t have any others.

I genuinely wouldn’t be sure of it’s value.

History shows that Israel did not just take over the above lands until 1967 when they defeated the Arab nations around them who were looking to destroy them, so there is no relevance to being "tiny" in 1958 or 1960 as they were just as "tiny" in 1967, oh and I think it's important to note that Israel was attacked first in 1967, they did not start it but they finished it in 7 days. Then as now, for it's size one if not the deadliest Armies in the world with Nuclear Power and the only Democracy in the Middle East, Carl needs to brush up on his History, but I would say it is a rarity for sure perhaps.

One of my favourite items due to the great artwork from 1958 https://flic.kr/p/n47ybQ

thanks holtie96 much appreciate your mention

Year
1958 is 100% def. the year of World Cup Sverige.
Israel pop in 1958 was less than 2million
(aggrandized, now, it's 8million in 2018)
so, we can imagine how few were made.
Value in stained condition "good" is about 100 Euros.
In near-mint condition a sale on EB was seen to end at 150euros
earlier in 2018.
I would pay 100 Euros for it, if i saw it for sale.
ALWAYS BUYING really RARE cards

Hello Footie Card Collector.

Firstly welcome to the forum. Your wealth of knowledge will be of benefit to all.

Thank you for you advice and valuation which is genuinely appreciated, but the item has been sold for a higher sum.

I note the reference to a book coming out. How do I buy it, and when will it be out? I want one.

Very best regards, Ian
